Selected to integrate and direct global operations for this newly acquired $3 Billion dollar former Ingersoll Rand business group. Responsible for all global operations including manufacturing, supply chain, quality, sourcing, logistics, Lean Six Sigma, advance strategic planning, current product engineering, customer service and other shared services. Managed 3 global brands of construction equipment, 9 regional manufacturing sites, and 3 regional aftermarket distribution centers. Reported directly to President and CEO. Successfully transitioned role to Korean leadership team.

Created and installed globally the DOS (Doosan Enterprise Excellence Operating System) for all functions and key processes. The DOS created short-term leverages and facilitated long-term maturity plan for world-class status in all areas of the business. Provided almost $250 Million annual reduction in fixed cost structure.

Transformed the value chain capability to allow a global conversion from a Make To Stock distribution process to a Make To Order process that reduced operating working capital by $150 Million and reduced annual dealer floor plan financing cost by $150 Million.

Lead an accelerated New Product Development plan that reduced concept to production cycle time from 36 to 24 months through revised integrated NPD process. Resulted in 3-5 points of global market share growth in 2009 YTD.

Initiated a 2 year plan to adopt and implement a Sustainability Plan that utilized global ISO 14001/ 18001 certifications and proposed wind farm produced energy to create an industry leading capability. These upgraded global capabilities projected to save globally up to $25 Million annually over the next 5 years and position DII as the industry leader in “Green” marketing space.

Created and implemented an enterprise wide Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification program for all non Operations functions and processes that supported a enterprise wide continuous improvement culture for all areas and key processes. Averaged $18 Million savings annually.

Designed and managed plant operations process and technology upgrades that reduced internal cycle time for completing units by 90 percent to 6 hours or less and reduced total quality cost by 80 percent globally. Both metrics were recognized as best in class within the industry.

Vice President, Global Operations, Compact Vehicle Sector (Bobcat & Club Car)

Directed global operations and supply chain operations for this $3 Billion sector.

Managed 8 global manufacturing sites and six distribution centers in North America, Europe, and Asia. Lead 15 direct reports and 3,500 operational employees, with an operating budget of $1.3 Billion and Capital Expenditures of $60 Million. Provided product and customer support for 2 major product brands that were marketed in 40 countries.

Designed and lead the Lean Six Sigma program that reduced Defects Per Million by 60 percent and Total Quality cost as percent of Revenue by 75 percent resulting in EBITDA improvement of $25 Million annually.

Lead global strategic growth process by opening 2 new regional Centers of Excellence in the Czech Republic and China. These additions drove a 3 year $650 Million growth in non-NA revenue by reducing COGS by 20 percent for all imported products and through reducing customer lead-times by 60 percent.

Developed patented manufacturing technology innovations in the areas of robotic welding, material handling, and metal coating that reduced internal cycle time from 6 days to 6 hours over a 4 year period. These reductions drove a $50 Million reduction in internal working capital and drove an average annual productivity gain of 8 percent over a 4 year period.

Managed the supply chain upgrades and customer service improvements required to support a CAGR of over 25 percent over the 4 year period doubling revenue to $3 Billion while increasing ROIC to nearly 45% at the end of the period.

Lead the cross sector IR Operations Council to develop a comprehensive 5 year plan for Enterprise Excellence in Supply Chain for this $12 Billion global entity. Won the Chairman’s Award for Excellence in 2006/07 for the performance of this team.

Selected to the team that managed the successful $4.9 Billion divesture of this sector at the end of 2007.
