Distributive Defect Tracking System (DDTS) for EMLOG

To make the navigational system of sea vessels more accurate and reliable by incorporating a fault detection system named DDTS.

All the peripherals are interconnected with the

Microcontroller.

This project was done under the external guidance of Kerala State Electronics Development Corporation

(KELTRON), 2013.

Design of an SoC for Epiretinal prostheses

It helps the blind people for their partial vision by implementing an SoC.

A 1024 channel SoC was designed in Cadence Virtuoso environment and Cadence Digital encounter

The images are captured by the photoreceptor cells which absorbs light and reflected from the object.

It will cause changes in membrane potential. This will create electrical pulses.

The retinal chip would convert the transmitted image data and produce an appropriate pattern of small electrical currents to be applied through a grid of electrodes positioned closely over the retina.

These pulses reach the brain through optic nerve and the brain generates biological signal with respect to the electrical signal for vision.

The absence of photoreceptor cell is replaced by the retina stimulated implanted chip and this chip produces the electrical pulses with respect to the light intensity and wavelength.

It uses DPSK telemetry and Quad level power telemetry system with a reduction in Current and Power.

AMBA AHB protocol

AMBA high performance bus initiates on chip bus

communications for high speed transferring of Data. Page 3

It includes multiple Masters, Slaves, Arbiter and Decoder.

The AMBA AHB is for high-performance, high clock frequency system modules.

The protocol allows AMBA bus data length of 8-bit to 1024 bit wide.

A bus master is able to initiate read and write operations by providing an address and control information.

A bus slave responds to a read or write operation within a given address-space range.

The bus arbiter ensures that only one bus master at a time is allowed to initiate data transfers.

The AHB decoder is used to decode the address of each transfer and provide a select signal for the slave that is involved in the transfer.

This was done by the Xilinx ISE 14.2 tool.
