As part of Sybase ASE to IQ Migration Project, Crystal Reports (with SQL Scripts/ Stored Procedures and all the re-usable components etc.) which are currently running/ available on Sybase ASE server will be migrated to Sybase IQ server. This Project was initiated due to server upgrade from old RDBMS system to latest system in order to improve the performance and reduce the TAT (Turn Around Time) of Query(s) execution. As part of this migration, more than 500+ reports are migrated to Sybase IQ server.

Being a senior developer in the Community and State BI reporting team, my responsibility was to identify all the reports which are running on Sybase ASE server.

Do the Impact Analysis and find the reports which are getting impacted by the server upgrade process and prepare a final report list.

Analyze the Impacted Report’s SQLs, convert them to Sybase IQ Compatible.

Responsible for producing identical results in Sybase ASE & IQ Platforms.

SQL Performance Tuning and Bug Fixing (if found any) by notifying to Onshore counterpart.

Allocation of reports within the team and check for progress on a timely manner.

Project Description:

GLHP Application (GLEN) is developed and maintained by UnitedHealth Group, which consists of different modules developed for UHG’s Health plan and it is an proprietary application for strategic platform. As part of standardization, this business is getting migrated under single data platform called CSP (community Strategic Platform). In this process of migration, the reports (parallelly all other parts of migrations like data etc.) from GLHP will be migrated to CSP Facets platform. GLHP is built on SQL Server technology, whereas CSP is on Sybase technology. This CSP database is used for developing reports as part of CSP Reporting Solutions Project.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Analyzing the existing GLHP reports and preparing the Software Specifications Document (SRS).

Preparing mapping documents for – GLHP to CSP (or) GLHP to SMART based on the business requirement.

Remove Custom tables and replace with Facets core tables.

Participating in requirements review and clarifications meetings with Onshore Analysts and clarifying the requirements gaps (if any) during U.S. business hours.

Reports Development in Crystal, SSRS and SQL in Sybase.

Real Time testing of projects with business users and Code Reviews and Coordination of Deliverables.

Scheduling the developed reports in production server using CMC reporting portal.

Have conducted many successful training sessions across teams on SQL, database objects and Crystal reports. Was also responsible for working as a mentor of database for all entry level associates in the project.
