PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
ACTIVE SAFETY VALIDATION ENGINEER Nov 2015 to May 2016
GENERAL MOTORS - MILFORD PROVING GROUNDS, MI
Created test plans and procedures for evaluation of features for fleet vehicle with CLIR, CLEVER instrumentation to integrate camera & audio recordings along with CAN and FLEX ray data on active safety systems.
Developed a tech design of the Fiber Optic Gyro for purposes of integrating into the vehicle and thereby measuring angular rate to facilitate lane stability, lane curvature measurement and created detailed Bill of Materials (BOM).
Coordinated with team members to identify failure modes in vehicle CAN, LIN and Flex Ray data and identified sensor based on-road surround objects. Also responsible for troubleshooting and repairing issues related to vehicle software.
Exposure to Implementation of feature evolution strategy and drive design changes with engineering to achieve customer deliverables (DVP&R’s, DFMEA, CAD Drawings)
Assisted with vehicle instrumentation, Functional safety ISO 26262, safety checks, daily system calibrations, validating new experimental software before releasing to operations and submitted detailed testing/bug reports to the team.
DESIGN ENGINEER Apr 2014 to Jul 2015
NETWORKS INTERNATIONAL CORPORATION - KANSAS CITY, MO
Designed and tested different types of electronic components, PCB layouts and generated GERBER files using tools like SOLIDWORKS, AutoCAD, Remu PCB, Altium, and PCAD.
Gained expertise in evaluating replacement electronic components for compatibility with existing PCB designs and redesign PCBs as required to solve production problems.
Gained hands on experience on oscilloscopes, multimeters and network analyzer to test the performance of a filter, coil, crystal, diplexers and their assemblies.
Promoted from an intern to a design engineer after 7 months.
TECHNICAL PHYSICAL DESIGN INTERN Feb 2012 to Apr 2013
BLUECHIP TECHNOLOGIES - INDIA
Trained on CAD tools, contributed to the designing, testing and troubleshooting of the PCB design lifecycle.
Experienced the overall manufacturing processes that go into the PCB design lifecycle before the release to market.
PROJECTS
Portable Range Doppler radar system Aug 2014 to Jan 2015
Created a real time working S-Band radar system which had range sensing, Doppler and SAR modes that used ISM band frequencies to measure the speed of passing cars and plotting the range of moving targets at a range of 100m.
Tools used: MATLAB, Network analyzer, RADAR Hardware Testing and Validation kit.
An innovative college transportation information system using GSM communication technology Dec 2012 to Apr2013
Designed an information system that enabled students the ability to know when their specific buses would arrive with great accuracy using GSM module along with Microprocessor 8085.
With the help of GPS and GSM modules the location of bus, availability of seats in the bus and exact time of arrival are conveyed as text messages to students who are enrolled for this setup dynamically.
Tools used: GSM module, Micro controller 8085, GPS module MUX, MAX232, Switches, KEIL Software.
