Description
State Street is replacing the Computer Associates Datacom database technology, with IBM’s DB2 database technology. The project involves converting all existing datacom databases to DB2, developing new modules to access these databases from front end as well as core mainframe back end applications. All the existing modules which access datacom need to point to the new DB2 database. The project involves redesign of all business critical applications to use the advanced functionalities of DB2 and improve the performance.

3. Financial Advisor Compensation
Description
The “FAComp” system is used to set up, maintain and administer Financial Advisor compensation plans. The system is comprised of the following components: Admin screens, daily and monthly batch processing, feeds into payroll, bookkeeping and other downstream systems, field and home office reporting, and comp modeling facilities. The requirement to rewrite the commissions and related sub-systems is mandated due to several factors, including aging and inefficiency of legacy architecture, inability of the system to quickly and efficiently respond to business owners' needs, difficulty in incorporating newly acquired firms' FAs, insufficient risk control, and the high costs of system maintenance and branch administration
