RESPONSIBILITIES – SENIOR PROJECT CONTROLS ENGINEER ( OWNERS TEAM)
Initiate the project, plan stage-gate process schedules and milestones
Provide cost control, scheduling, progress measurement, change control and forecasting (EAC, ETC etc).
Develop Project WBSs using SAP and Prism and other scheduling tools such as Primavera and MS Project
Interface with functional groups such as commercial management, accounting, exploration, operations support and operations as well as outside engineering and construction firms.
Provide work direction as required in the preparation of planning and scheduling control systems and practices to provide Engineering, Procurement and Construction supervisors the means to evaluate the progress and execution of assigned projects.
Assist in FEED (Front-end engineering design) documents for Newmont’s STAGE GATE procedures as required by the investment council, value assurance group and others.
Organize work into activities, estimate resource requirements, cost resources and schedule for results.
Assist with cost estimates from conceptual estimates (factored from historically similar projects) to detailed estimates prepared from drawings.
Assist in development and maintenance of spreadsheets or databases for estimates, forecasts, commitments, actual cost, change management and progress reporting.
Provide project accounting with accruals.
Develop and maintain schedules using MS Project software.
Assist in the preparation for STAGE GATE reviews and AFE submissions including the compilation of functional deliverables required for the study report and project execution plans.

Select the most efficient methods and procedures for recording contracts and purchase order commitments, accruals and forecast in the Prism Project Management System (PPMS).
Carry out standard procedures based on project execution plan, capital effectiveness guidebook and related procedures.
Interpret contracts, purchase orders and ellipse reports.
Extract and obtain data from a variety of sources including other departments and contractors.
