Resume:

Linda B. Boone

Objective

Accountant with over 15 years’ experience seeking an Accountant position.

Experience

Feb.1997 to May 31, 2014

WJBD Dorn Veterans Hospital

Columbia, SC

dSs Cost Accountant, GS-510

I have processed and audited both the financial and clinical sides of dSs for over 14 years, contacting AO or service line directors to identify correct mapping for contracts and other supplies, reviewing their mapping. I am routinely called upon by others in VISN 7 to assist with processing issues, often identifying high cost products and the corrective action necessary to correct the issues. Have identified incorrect mapping of a BOC in lab for three sites in VISN 7 and communicated to them the action which needed to be taken to correct the VCNV mapping. Have audited the VISN 7 Dayton Call Center costs and mappings, identifying corrective actions to be taken to come in compliance. Due to the unexpected absence of the ALB processor at a few sites in our VISN, had to process ALB for these facilities for several months, and identified several budget issues, incorrect mappings, incorrect cost types, and costing concerns which were communicated to the DCM processor and site liaison for further review and correction. I recently conducted an audit of Job Codes mapped to Accounts for VISN7, identifying several sites with multiple mappings, which were subsequently corrected. I populate an Access database which identifies high cost products, and identified an extremely high product for parent site and another one for buddy site. I also populate the VISN10 reports database and routinely use it to identify areas to improve the data.

I provide training on processing and database use in meetings or by Live Meeting or via Communicator.

I was a participant in a team which developed the DSO E-Learning Course Basic Labor Mapping which is available in TMS.

I was appointed as Chair of the VISN7 Technical Training Workgroup, auditing and recommending changes to be made to each site’s structure. In addition I am a member of the CBI, ALB, Clinical, Data Mining, and VERA workgroups. As a member of the ALB workgroup, I developed a standardized processing grid, utilizing named ranges; macros, vlookups, and auto fill cells, including links to the processing chapters on the DSO websites.

I am responsible for VISN07 Nursing Dashboard, including revising spreadsheet with Vlookups, named ranges, macros, pivot tables and dynamic charts which identify cost, workload, and productivity. I also identified lost workload for one site in VISN as well as high productivity for several DCM departments which was communicated to the sites for corrective action of RVUs and/or labor mapping. During an audit, identified a site with lost workload because they were not capturing beddays, then communicated this to them for corrective action. Identified issue with buddy site’s productivity and gave guidance to the nurse executive on how to proceed with labor mapping and workload capture.

I developed the VISN7 dSs SharePoint site.

I tested the FY12 and FY11 October DSS Financial processing.

I assisted with the development of the presentation, “Attributes of Decision Support”, for the FY 2011 VHA Finance Conference.
