Title: Fundamentals of computer numerical control system (CNC) applications and work shop practices

Description: Comparing conventional machines compared to the CNC machining the flexibility in machining of various parts prevails as the key advantage.work. All needed functions ( like all motions of cutting tools, set-up of cutting conditions, exchange of cutting tools or work-pieces is achieved by execution of all NC blocks. All necessary information for a machining of a part should be included in the alpha-numerical codes. As the main production information can be mentioned: - dimension information for a production of each surface parts, - cutting data information – speeds, feed speeds, cooling fluids, etc. - additional information (e.g. dwelling time, opening of safety shields, etc.) Numerically controlled tool machines are designed for automatic work regime primarily. Programming of themachines can be done with a special operational panel directly or with the remote powerful workstations indirectly. So that the NC programming can be seen as CAD/CAM systems,workshop oriented programming and so called ISO programming (sometimes called as programming in the G-code)

Conclusion: The importance of lathe and milling machines even if thet are conventional cannot be underminded. These machines have played a real important role in brining about industrial revolution and have laid foundations. But bringing new technology in the present era is very important. The conventional machines are required in small quantities where as the CNC machines must be increased to improve the quantity and quality of production.

Main Project:

Title: "Desing and analysis of pressure vessel in hot isostatic press" - using ANSYS tool.

Description: Hot isostatic is a fabrication process in this the pressure vessel is main component. The study of flow field is of importance to understand the regions where there is a drop in pressure and locations where any tentative defects like blowholes, cracks, etc. The study of temperature zones in the pressing mold also helps to study the zones where cold shuts and hot pockets might form. That way, we obtain an increased understanding of local details in the internal gas flow and heat flux inside the HIP apparatus. The main objective of this work is to assess the potential of using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) as a reliable tool for future HIP development. Also desiging the pressure vessel I.e. mechanical failures are calculated. Initially the desing of the pressure vessel is made and the vessel is meshed and the boundary conditions are given I.e. input,walls, and outlet conditions are given and the simulation is carried in steady state.

Conclusion: Sucessfully designed pressure vessel to with stand the pressure inside. Two simulation models have sucessfully been developed for analyzing the gas flow and the heat conduction that is taking place inside the hip apparatus using ANSYS tool
