WORK EXPERIENCE

Brite Industries (Project Engineer) 06/2013 –07/2014

A Heat Ventilation and Air Conditioning Company dealing with government projects.

*Performing heating and cooling load calculations. Preliminary HVAC layout and duct sizing with the help of AUTOCAD/Revit. Report status to management team on a weekly basis with Microsoft Word, Excel and Power.

*Applying continuous improvement variability reduction methods, identify non-value added activities with maximum equipment utilization, cost reduction and material flow and labor allotment.

*Responsibilities including inventory reconciliation, inventory database maintenance, and purchase order maintenance, and vendor relationship management.

*Practice lean methodology at various levels to ensure the project finishes before the due date. Can work independently and manage multiple RFQs/RFPs.

Mahindra (Internship) 06/2012 – 10/2012

The intern team conducted time/motion studies and Root Cause analysis technique to design and improve the workstation which successfully reduced the servicing time from 2 hours to 1 hour 20 minutes.

PROJECTS

* Simulation and Optimization: The project included designing a silicon wafer production facility on WITNESS. Data was analyzed and a simulation model of the plant was created. Theory of constraints was successfully implemented to identify and rectify the possible bottlenecks in the process. Kaizen activities were performed to increase the throughput which increased the throughput of the system to 1 MW.

* Quality Improvement of Tandem gear pump manufactured by Eaton Industries (Dec 2015): Voice of the customer and their complaints from surveys were documented. Statistical process controls were used to identify defects in the gear pump. Affinity Diagram, Ishikawa diagram and Pareto Analysis were conducted to categorize the different defects after which we implemented 8D analysis, Six Sigma (DMAIC), FMEA, PDCA and PFMEA to rectify the defects which reduced the number of complaints for the gear pump.

* Facilities and Layout Planning (Dec 2015): Redesigned the picking process to support changes in the ordering profiles of the clients due to increased customer orders. Identify the KPI from the database and slow moving prodcuts. Four different picking and equipment selection were recommended of which gap analysis was conducted on each of them. The resulting selection saved the client 27% in the order picking cycle time.

* Global Supply Chain Beer Game (Dec 2015): The Supply Chain Game is an online supply network simulator. Students were divided into 11 different teams. To meet different demand patterns in five regions, we forecasted future trends, engineered supply chain solutions to include final mile delivery, facility layout/process flow, network design and tailored supply chain structures to meet client needs.
