WORK EXPERIENCE

Resident Caregiver

Arden Courts - Towson, MD - March 2016 to Present

I like the work and Residents that I work with here, however there has been a break down of management and several people have resigned in the last 3 days. I am not satisfied in my salary and really do need to make a change. I want to be totally honest with you on my reasons for leaving . Caregiver

Bernard Pabich - Fort Howard, MD - September 2008 to May 2011 Mr. Pabich was a 80 year old man who broke his hip and needed care at the time to bathe dress cook clean although his wife was there and she suffered from Bi-Polar and could not be effective. He also had diabetes he became ill one year after Christmas when he went to the hospital it was found that he had a problem with his colon, they eventually gave him a colostomy, and then for reasons still unknown to me he was put on dyalasis something I didn't think he needed he was doing well on medications however after 1 year on this he passed away. He was bed bound for the last 8 months of his life and never had any sores or any complications, I moved in with him for the last year he had a wound on his stomach from his operations, and I took care of his colostomy and transfers from bed to chair chair to car for his dyalasis. I cooked a special diet and even cheated when he wanted to. He loved birds so his bed was downstairs and I put 2 large bird feeders on his back porch so he could see all the different birds come to eat. The last 3 days of his life were in the hospital and I was there when he passed 3am May 15th 2011 I reall y liked Mr. Jack he is truly missed. Caregiver

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

In 2012 my only child Robert was diagnosed with PET a rare brain cancer and their is no cure. I left work and became my son's Caregiver I guess I don't have to tell you what that was like or the sorrows that still follow me. I know that whenever I am working be it Hospice or dementia or cut on their hand I am taking care of my son. I was very fortunate to have one of the top, surgeons in Baltimore and some very good doctors and nurses and when I work with people even before he died but more so know I always say if this was Robert what would I want for him and before that it was what if this were me. When it comes to care and it has been through alot of experience there isn't to much I cannot do. I am an excellent caregiver and someone who would round off your team. I hope to hear from you soon and we can discuss more of what were both looking for. I didn't know where else to put this it would not let me make a change.
