Quality Assurance and Non Destructible Testing

4/19/14 -present -Centric Pipe Co - Bossier City, La

Non destructible testing by ultrasonic method (shear wave method) on ERW welded pipe online and finished product using ECHOMAC with contact shoes and transducers. GE USMGO handheld to proof up offline paint indications. Did trouble shooting whenever there was a problem with machines or testing. Observed and reviewed results of crush testing, hydrostatic testing, final inspection and weight, measure and stencil operation. Instructed other employees in the operation of online and offline ultrasonic testing of pipe. Worked up samples in laboratory as to weld and material composition, sharpy and tensile testing. Was the person they relied on to diagnose and repair machines when there was a problem. Wrote procedures for UT testing as Level II. Operated overhead cranes and gas forklifts to safely move parts and install on the machines. Worked 12hr. day 4 to 5 days a week. Centric purchased and took over facility when Northwest closed down.

Non destructible testing by ultrasonic method (shear wave and water column method) on ERW welded pipe online and finished product using GE UTXX, KRAUTKRAMMER 2100, and ECHOMAC with contact and submersible shoes and transducers. GE USMGO with contact shoes and transducers. Visual testing using micrometers (inside, outside, and depth), PI tape, weld bevel & land thickness gages. Performed lab testing of samples for tensile testing, material and weld composition to API and customer specifications. Performed crush test and observed results of hydrostatic testing. Performed UT testing from trailer in the yard while construction was being completed in the plant. Was the one they went to solve problems in testing or with the machines used. Operated overhead cranes and gas forklifts to safely move and install parts to the machines. Worked varied shifts and hours to support the work load. Helped in setting up ISO 9001in the plant.

Visually inspected and measured all stages of production of pressure vessels, wind towers, MBI buildings and ship components to print & customer specifications & code requirements. AWS and ASME code for pressure vessels, AWS-D1.1 for cyclically loaded wind tower sections, MIL-STD & NAVShip for government / military work on ship panels & various components. Verified, measured, and tested of receivable items, in production of cutting, forming, fit up, and welding of products. Upon acceptance, sold to insurance authorized, customer, and government inspectors at the required times during production and prior to shipping. Tested welders and verified qualifications of in process welding to procedures. Welders & supervisors appreciated and preferred me checking their work because of the high quality work I do. Moved to machine shop and machined components from rough to finished products and delivered to final inspection. Did set up and maintained tooling in the different areas that I did machining in. Operated gas and electric, sit on and stand up forklifts as required. Operated overhead and jib cranes safely to setup fixtures and install parts and tooling into and remove them from the machines. Worked in tool room and machined fixtures for assembly and test areas to blueprint specifications on whatever machine that was needed. Wrote the programs including M, G and R codes, chose tools to successfully machine fixtures. Attended all training courses available to me.
