100% improvement in EBITDA, completely reversing years of operating at a loss to continuously delivering profit. Focused on most important KPIs determined by keen P&L awareness.

Champion of world class safety culture. Instituted daily Gemba walks for all staff members, focusing on housekeeping and behavioral safety observations. Led use of A3 problem-solving to find root cause of all risks and to develop sustainable action plans.

Reduced headcount by 20% while improving production output: improved throughput at bottleneck operations using Kaizens, standard work, SMED and other Lean Sigma methodologies to improve utilization. Labor efficiency improved from <200 LBS/Labor Hour to 250 LBS/Labor Hour.

Successfully led CapEx and Productivity Initiatives. Reduced conversion costs/LB by 6% contributing to productivity savings of $400,000+ per year.

Continuous Improvement Manager/Supply Chain Manager, 2010 – 2012

Improved delivery performance from 69% to 97% immediately upon arrival through capacity planning, production planning overhaul, flow modeling and control of sales bookings.

Implemented Aleris Operating System, a customer-focused continuous improvement management system built on Lean Sigma foundations. Built and introduced use of Information Center (IC) for daily standup plant operations meetings.

Trained and mentored staff and plant manager in use of manual, visual KPIs to focus on the most important areas and to develop countermeasures when problems developed.

Implemented use of A3 Strategic Planning. Trained and mentored development of annual Strategic A3s in each critical area of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People.

Ensured PDCA thinking was employed by directing staff members in the development and use of quarterly 90-day action plans as tactical tools to deliver on annual strategies.
