Subject: John LoDolce Recommendation

To whom it may concern;

I understand that my colleague from Northrop Grumman, John LoDolce, has applied for a position with you. I have known John from Grumman and Northrop Grumman for about 30 years. It has been my pleasure to work with him and for him. In my opinion, he is both an outstanding and intelligent engineer, and an outstanding manager, a combination that makes him an extraordinary asset for various types of technological development efforts.

As an engineer, John has an in-depth understanding of the technical details of primary radar and IFF detection, navigation, target tracking, and target reporting. He has the ability to effectively communicate these details, and to design and clearly specify novel approaches to enhance capabilities and solve problems.

As a manager, John innately understands the development process (both software and hardware), leading his teams in reaching their goals in a forthright and understandable manner. He communicates honestly with his management, always trying to optimize program direction. When leading the development of problem fixes and capability enhancements, he makes sure to involve teammates by leading discussions that result in solutions that are optimized for performance, customer expectations, schedule constraints, and cost constraints. He has an excellent rapport with customers, with the ability to clearly communicate the company’s positions, and listen to and understand the customer’s needs. Whenever I have been on one of his teams, he has always been well-involved, providing timely feedback and support, which is so important in accomplishing goals in a timely manner and maintaining team morale.

I believe that John would be great fit for any company. Please do not hesitate to contact me for any reason regarding John’s application. Yours truly,
