Project Profile#1 UPRR PTC-IETMS BOS System and Energy Management – Project Lead (May 2012 – till date)

Project Description:

The objective of the system is to achieve maximum fuel conservation along with train safety with the help of an adaptive braking algorithm and risk assessment methods as per the Federal Railroad Administration called Positive Train Control (PTC software). It is comprised of five modules onboard, wayside, back office server, dispatching and communication.

Positive train control (PTC) is a system of functional requirements for monitoring and controlling train movements as an attempt to provide increased safety.

Energy Management system – LEADER (NYAB product), Trip Optimizer (GE product) guides the engineer to ride the train in such a way that minimum fuel is burnt with a help of a algorithm coded in train management computer.

Contribution:

Lead the Test team for the testing of Onboard, Back Office Server segments and End to End Lab Integration testing for all the PTC systems

Develop regression test plan/specification based on analysis of product changes

Develop and design test scenarios and test cases for integration testing of all the segments in PTC Architecture

Complete knowledge and understanding of Positive Train Control (PTC) architecture, coordinating with the offshore team, review the test execution, providing domain knowledge to the new Team members and analyzing the issues encountered while testing.

Analyzing the issues reported while testing, raising critical defects and discussing the problems with Subject Matter Experts (SME) at UPRR.

Project Description:

The vision to leverage the enterprise-wide SAP ERP system for the polymer business at the back end and build an Extended ERP solution (CARE) for customers, channel partners and the customer’s field force. In this solution for IOCL, Ax- 2009, SAP, CRM and MOSS are tightly integrated through BizTalk Server and managing the Channel partner and their inventory, Creating new channel partner, maintaining their accounts and tax details, processing of sales indents, excise calculation and price upload.

Contribution:

Devising the system wide Test Strategy and Test Plans. Formulating and devising the Testing Process. Formulating the daily and monthly reports and metrics.

Reviewing the test cases, test scripts, test execution and defects. Defect Analysis and tracking of defects to closure. Preparing exit report by the end of each testing phase.

Also responsible to work in coordination with the BA team and capture client requirements & prepare comprehensive scope document covering all the requirements and clients expectations.

Project Description:

Incident management team is responsible majorly to handle all the Major Incidents occurring within all the 24 applications. This team is held responsible to ensure all the KPIs are up to the benchmark and have to showcase all the highlights and lowlights of the project to the management for the further improvement/enhancement of the KPIs which in turn results in the improvement of the deliverables to the client.

Contribution:

Managing Incidents as a active member of Incident Management Team. Analyzing the SQL Reporting Services (CRS) for keeping a track of all the major KPIs. Staffing of the entire team and ensuring maximum shift coverage.

SPOC for all the escalations in the shift and for the client. Continuous follow-up with various support teams for incident resolution. Manage and coordinate activities of the entire ticket.
