TECHNICAL SKILLS/ COMPETENCIES
SolidWorks Inventor 3D CAD ANSYS Simulation MATHCAD MATLAB Scilab Minitab Finite Element Analysis (FEA) Microsoft (Word, Excel, Power Point) C++ Programming RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS
Undergraduate Research Assistant, Center for Advanced Vehicular Systems, September 2015 – July 2016 Department of Mechanical Engineering, Mississippi State University
Conducted failure and fractography analysis on fractured fatigue test specimens using the SEM to identify fatigue crack initiation sites, propagation sites and final fracture.
Performed micro-hardness test on samples using the Vickers Hardness tester.
Prepared fatigue metal test samples using the lathe machine.
Prepared Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) test samples by cutting, mounting, polishing and etching.
Determined crystallinity of samples using the Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC).
Successfully presented ongoing research at the Undergraduate Research Symposium MECHANICAL DESIGN PROJECTS
DARPA REVCON International Student Challenge - Field Reversible January - October 2015 Thermal Connector Competition
Developed a thermal connector that integrates phase-change heat transfer via an embedded pulsating heat pipe.
Designed a 3D CAD model of the titanium thermal connector using SolidWorks
Implemented tests on a 3D printed thermal connector prototype
Investigated the thermal performance of the heat pipe using SolidWorks’ thermal simulation
Performed finite element analysis using ANSYS Simulation
Manufactured small copper parts to complete the fabricated Ti-6Al-4V heat pipe Energy Systems Design
Completed several comprehensive design projects requiring engineering decisions, data acquisition, and codes/standards compliance.
Designed energy systems components such as heat exchangers, piping networks, and pumps.
Efficiently adhered to the codes/standards during the design process. Mechanical Systems Design
Designed a new mechanical braking system for FedEx’s cargo dollies used in conjunction with the dollies’ old braking system.
Identified the existing problem on the old FedEx braking mechanism.
Analyzed and solved the problem by implementing a simple and effective design found through research and brainstorming.
Received positive feedback from FedEx engineers after successfully presenting the team’s solution to the braking system.
