CAREER SUMMARY

Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3 years of experience in Designing (CREO, Solidworks, AUTOCAD), CAE Analyst (ANSYS) and Quality Management. Industrial work experience in designing components of manufacturing machines, and quality control.

EDUCATION

Purdue School of Engineering and Technology, IUPUI May 2016

Master of Science - Mechanical Engineering

Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University April 2014

Bachelor of Technology - Mechanical Engineering

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Design Tools: PTC Creo, Solidworks, AUTOCAD, NX Unigraphics.

Analysis/Simulation: FEA, Ansys/Workbench, CATIA.

Quality Management: Minitab, Lean Manufacturing, SPC, APQP, FMEA, Kaizen, Cp, Cpk.

Programming: Matlab, C, CNC.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Hindustan Machine Tools Pvt. Limited (HMT) Nov 2013-June 2014

Design Engineer

Designed the components for CNC Lathe Machine using CAD software.

Implemented Controller Programs (CNC) for a CNC Lathe Machine to manufacture components.

Cross functioned with all the teams considering the DFR and DFM criteria’s based on customer needs, cost and quality in APQP process.

Collaborated with suppliers and vendors to better understand the product specifications and quality requirements.

Drafted FMEA, DVP&R, created BOMs and developed detail design drawings.

Associate Quality Engineer

Maintained SPC of components by graphically representing the X bar and R charts in Minitab.

Suggested the Lean manufacturing principles to increase the value-added activities of Production.

Cross functioned with various teams in the organization and suppliers to understand the product specifications and make sure the product manufactured is meeting the quality requirements.

Gained knowledge in PPAP documentation and also had hands on experience using SAP software.

Purdue School of Engineering and Technology Jan 2015-May 2016

Teaching Assistant, Fluid Mechanics

Tutored concepts of mechanics dealing with the properties of fluids in various states with their reaction to force.

Experiments were conducted in laboratory to implement the concepts in practical scenarios.

Testing and documenting various test cases to see how various parameters effect the efficiency.

RESEARCH PROJECT

Design Optimization and Simulation of Cooling Channels in Injection Molding Aug 2015-April 2016

Optimization of cooling channels in injection molding process to cool the mold in the cavity, using PRO-E/ CREO.

Developed the molds of the plastic part using Creo Manufacturing module software.

FEA–Simulation (Structural Analysis & Thermal Transient Analysis) of Cooling Channels was performed considering various parameters like water temperature, material of cooling channel and the plastic, film coefficient etc. using ANSYS.

Created DOE to determine the relation between factors affecting the temperature of the mold and various other parameters involved in the process of cooling the plastic part.

Documented various test cases to see how change in parameters effect the cooling time of the plastic part.

Achieved 3 % reduction in cycle time considering the overall production.

Comparison was made between the Rectangular PCCC to the Circular PCCC to come up with an appropriate design of the channel.

Suggestion for future work was presented to detect the temperature inside the injection molding process for improvisation in design of PCCC.

PROJECTS

Quality Analyst – Orange HRM July 2016

Reviewed the SRS document of the Orange HRM.

Designed and documented test scenarios, manually executed test cases on the application.

Found multiple bugs resulting from their testing and documented them.

Optimization and Analysis of Bio-Mechanical Knee Loading Device Jan 2015-April 2015

Optimized a Bio- Mechanical Knee Loading device which would operate at 1 to 5 Hz frequency and Voltage of 12V-25V (enough to drive DC) with 2 bevel gears using Solidworks.

FEA – Structural Analysis was performed to analyze vonmises stresses, principal stresses and the maximum deformations involved by using the ANSYS/Workbench.

The device was designed to be robust to produce enough force.

Design of Gear Box of 19-150 Delta Air Hydraulic Drill Jan 2015- April 2015

Modeled the parts of gear box using PTC Creo.

Constructed a gear train of 2 driven gears and 1 driving gear.

Design calculations were performed in designing the spur gear (Interferences, Pitch circle, Base circle etc), bearings and shaft for the gear box.

Mechanical gear analysis was performed to check for interferences.

The Modeling of Air Circulation Engine Block Jan 2015-April 2015

Modeled major parts of Engine Block such as the Blower, Carburetor and Crank Shaft etc. using PTC CREO.

Assembled Parts to complete the engine block using the software.

Mechanical Analysis was performed to detect any interferences.
