Led the creation and development of a new product line for the Towel and Tissue division.

Using Solid Works designed a pleated paper towel plastic dispenser that would fit within the confinement of a folded towel holder and would dispense, at the wave of the hand, a metered pleated towel substrate.

Filed 3 patents, 2 for new dispenser designs and 1 for a new paper format product.

Mechanical Engineer – Subsystem Engineer/Team Leader 1987-2002

Manufacturer of copiers, printers and inks for office use.

Directed the Drive Team and the drive’s assembly vendor in the Extended Enterprise project. Achieved a production assembly that met all the subsystem’s critical parameters and cost targets.

Led the first engineering team at Xerox to do a benchmarking evaluation on competitive products, resulting in reduced design cycle and a design that outperformed the competition.

Managed the feeder design team in the delivery of a new design of paper feeders allowing a new architecture in a mid-volume copying machine. This new design maintained the critical parameters required to meet the Function, Features, Price and Quality of the machine.

Designed and implemented a customer replaceable feeder unit that lowered the feeder maintenance cost to the customer. This design incorporated a semi-active retard clutch so unique that it merited a patent.

Took ownership of the development of a paper drawer design that eliminated costly and unreliable electrical devices in the drawer. This design was so innovative that it was patented.

Managed the Decurler Team in the delivery of a production subsystem design resulting in a lower shut down rate for the machine. Successfully selected and directed vendors reducing manufacturing cost and delivery.

Took ownership of a cost-down task resulting in a 40% cost reduction of a production drive subsystem. Engaged a new, overseas production vendor, guiding this vendor in the development of robust manufacturing processes.

Led a cross-functional team through testing, redesign and acquisition of a decurling kit for the Duplex Module. The project reduced the jamming rate of sheets in the paper path by 30%.

Designed and coordinated the manufacture of the frame and drives for the document handler of the Xerox 5100 machine.
