I have worked as Charge Nurse/Resident Care Manager in Long Term Care facilities for twenty years and have acquired valuable experiences and skills. My patients have required head to toe assessments, contact with Medical /doctors, ordering medications and treatments for a large spectrum of diagnosis. I have experience in Medicare quality charting, GI and GU assessments, weekly monitoring and follow-up, monthly summaries of condition, monthly psych charting and evaluation ( mandatory reductions), and investigation and intervention of incidents and situations that require DSHS involvement. I have experience with MDS, and the RAI process and the crucial effect accurate completion has on reimbursement. I am proficient in venipuncture and IV starts. I also have been trained in and have experience with wound vacs and other treatments.

I have worked as a Case Manager as liaison between my facility and and HMOs and managed a medicare unit.

I have had the opportunity to work with PTs, OTS, ST and dieticians as well as MSWs in managing care and discharge planning and to enhance the care of my patients and as an interdisciplinary team member. I embrace the essential aspects of strong communication skills to the efficient functioning of a team. As Assistant Director of Nursing at Life Care of Bothell, and Nurse Manager, I have experience in all aspects of managing RNs, LPNs and CNA staff.

I have managed a Medicare Unit as Case Manager in a Life Care building. I was also involved there in Quality Assurance Indicators. I did cost tracking and justification for Medicare qualification to HMOs to obtain authorizations for Medicare coverage.

I started a CNA training facility in Spokane called AIMED with a partner and taught NAC classes authorized by the State for completion of the state board test for CNAs. An endeavor that unfortunately ended badly because of my partners dishonest business practices.
