Professional Experience

CallFlex Sistemas Digitais

Function: Systems Architect (Period: 02/2011 to current)

Responsible for planning and developing the company's infrastructure systems, including IP telephony (Asterisk); secure access via VPN (OpenVPN) to over 500 servers allocated on customers' facility; deployment design and configuration of routers and switches (Cisco and HP).

Infrastructure management of virtual machines with VMware, including: physical servers and storage arrays dimensioning (Linux and IBM); high availability and fault tolerance; centralized authentication using LDAP/Active Directory; dimensioning and installation of virtual machines; hot cloning and backup of virtual machines.

Zabbix implementation to monitor services and servers in order to act proactively and reduce services downtime and increase SLA.

Implementation and configuration of our own Autonomous System (AS) and maintainer of both routes via BGP as DNS zones advertising using Linux servers.

Implementation of configuration management systems using Puppet, StaltStack, and Chef.

Root cause analysis and consequent problem solving as well generation of technical reports to be sent to customers and vendors.

Design and implementation of internal network infrastructure focusing in security by splitting network in VLANs using multilayer switches ACLs and deploying Untangle Server as firewall, internet access control, antivirus, anti spam and redundant multiple WAN links.

AT&T Gobal Network Services

Function: Network Support Specialist (Period: 05/2008 to 02/2011)

When AT&T has acquired network area from IBM world wide, I started working as an AT&T employee, performing the same jobs I was doing at IBM.

After that, I was selected to integrate Global Tier 3 Support team, giving assistance to worldwide AT&T’s customers.

I’ve developed internal tools in PHP to optimize and integrate requests from different departments.

IBM Brazil

Function: Network Support Specialist (Period: 10/2004 to 05/2008)

Responsible for supporting IBM’s network devices as well IBM’s customers network devices, like routers, switches, access-points (Cisco, Enterasys, Symbol) and firewalls (CheckPoint, Linux IPtables, Cisco Pix/ASA).

Support and configure network services like e-mail (Postfix, Sendmail), Anti-SPAM (IMSS, SpamAssassin, Ironport), DNS (Bind, QIP), DHCP (QIP) and Proxy (ISA Server, Squid, iPlanet).

Responsible for planning and implementing changes on IBM and its customers environment for implementing new projects, correcting vulnerabilities and general improvements.

Development of tools, processes and training to improve quality and speed of tickets, as well to optimize department’s work flow.

Support for IBM’s international customers, giving remote support to network devices, interacting with the customer and proposing improvements to overall solutions.

CPTM - Companhia Paulista de Trens Metropolitanos (as consultant)

Function: Network Administrator (Period: 10/2001 to 10/2004)

Administration of the company’s network, including LAN and WAN management at the CPTM sites using Windows NT/2000, Solaris, IBM AIX and Linux servers. User and e-mail management using Microsoft Exchange. Backup administration using BrightStor.

Installation and configuration of Windows NT/2000 servers with fault tolerant (RAID 1 and 5). Implementation of Linux as Proxy, Firewall, DNS, NAT, e-mail anti-virus gateway, anti-SPAM, QoS and Internet access log servers.

Configuration and maintenance of Cisco routers to keep the company’s connectivity using Frame Relay and ATM links. Creation of dynamic routes, access control lists (ACL) and traffic shaping (QoS) for a better links utilization.

Technical support to the CPTM users, enclosing support on software, hardware, network and the company’s internal systems.

I was responsible for migration of whole Windows NT/Exchange 5.5 network to Windows 2000/Exchange 2000, enclosing 32 servers and more than 2800 users.

Responsible for Linux workstations implementation project.

Secure remote access to the company's servers for maintenance and operation using SSH and VPN and Citrix Metaframe.
