Quality Assurance Manager Duties and responsibilities:

Quality Manager

As Quality Manager, I am was lead auditor for internal audits for AS-9100 / ISO 9001-2008.

Modified and maintained the Quality Management System for system compliance.

Wrote and modified policies and procedures.

Acted as company liason with customer quality representatives.

Delegated source representative for three major customers.

Managed / Supervised Fabrication Inspection personnel.

Reviewed / Approved weld procedures prior to release to manufacturing.

Managed Hydrostatic Inspections teams including customer assigned source inspectors.

Established and implemented quality policies, Planning, NC programing, Production and Quality Root Cause and Correction Action panels.

• Lead quality inspectors and quality system specialists/engineers supporting production operations to ensure products, services and processes comply with customer contract requirements, engineering requirements, company procedures and government regulations.

• Focal for AS-9100 QMS and ISO 9001-2008 implementation, compliance and assessment. I was responsible for gaining AS 9100 Rev C certification. Provided education and coaching on the Quality System. Primary focal to customers to ensure AS9100 compliance. I wrote and maintained the AS-9100 compliance system including all quality and working policies and procedures as well as the QA Manual.

Responsible for training personnel utilized for internal auditing for the quality systems in regards to AS-9100 / ISO 9001 2008 and customer quality requirements. Focal point for Quality audits conducted by third party auditing bodies. Lead auditor for internal annual audit lead process improvements. Coach, counsel, mentor and provide developmental opportunities and job assignments to enhance employee performance and expand capabilities. Recognize contributions of individuals/teams to improve employee satisfaction and retain a skilled and motivated workforce. Develop/maintain relationships/partnerships with customers, peers, suppliers and direct reports.

• Monitored implemented corrective/preventive action plans. Assign authority and responsibilities to employees to execute the plans. Review plans’ execution, make adjustments, resolve issues and ensure CA effectiveness.

• Created and Lead the implementation of production personnel in self-Inspection techniques.

Identified opportunities to engage and empower employees to make process improvements.

• Monitor the development of methods, procedures and metrics to ensure quality standards/practices. Lead stakeholders in the analysis of process data, metrics and process flows to identify root causes of complex problems and development and implementation of preventive/corrective actions.

• Responsible for driving a culture of Quality, compliance, ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout all organizations.

• Interact with senior leadership to effectively and efficiently schedule, plan, perform and document AS9100 QMS audits and process and procedure reviews.

• Responsible for maintaining the AS-9100 Registration within schedule, budget and to the customer’s satisfaction.

• Develop and provide training and coaching on the Quality System and Corrective Preventative Action System (CPAS) to support AS-9100 Registration.

• Ensure compliance with contractual, company and regulatory requirements to assure quality system compliance. Collaborate cross-functionally with customers to ensure corrective/preventive action.

• Interact with senior leadership and manage QMS programs/projects and process improvement initiatives to comply with US Federal, state and local agencies. Duties include regulatory review, compliance and auditing functions.

• Primary focal for budget management for third party AS9100 audits. Develop and analyze performance metrics for programs.

• Integrate; develop/track metrics to manage programs and identify root causes; seek customer feedback to understand current/future customer needs; strive for continuous improvement and eliminate non value-added work.

Approved all production documents (manufacturing production plans and drawings) prior to release in

order to assure all customer requirements are current, valid and meet the contract requirements.

Customer appointed Quality duties and responsibilities:

• Boeing Delegate Source; Quality Source Representative - Wichita, Seattle, and Everett divisions

• ROHR Industries - Quality DSQR representative, Chula Vista, CA.

• DMIR (designated manufacturing inspection representative) designated by the FAA

Vendor surveillance:

Supplier’s facilities entailing selection and recommendation of subcontractors based on capability of equipment.

On site surveillance of current vendor facilities.

Established and maintained quality requirements and matrix for supply chain in accordance with AS-9100 requirements.

Supervision:

Supervisor of production (first article) and finial inspectors, including the computerized inspection department and establishing inspection techniques. Focal point for analyzing of engineering drawing between inspection and production (manufacturing).

Team leader for lean events.
