Project Description#

Valhalla is Starwood’s central reservation/loyalty system. Starwood's more than 1200 properties worldwide are managed through this system. Valhalla is one of its kind in SOA (Service Oriented Architecture). Valhalla implementation involved developing web-services for different modules ex: Rates, inventory, booking etc. Idea behind this was to enable these services to interact with each other in a more scalable way, improving the overall maintenance. Also, these services could then be used by various channels (like expedia etc.)/ Locations. Business logic tier was developed using stateless session beans which communicate with the persistence layer built on hibernate. Starwood CRS handles large volume of transactions everyday with no downtime

Responsibilities:

Participate in design and development of new applications features and functions.

Worked with Implementation Spring MVC architecture and Spring Bean Factory using IOC concepts.
