Currently working as a Software Developer / Programmer Analyst in project Global Credit and Rates (in Residential and Commercial Mortgages domain)

My role is to directly interact with Traders, understanding the business needs, doing the analysis, based upon that working on program enhancements, and testing, resolving production issues real-time. Below are the main systems we are currently working on - SWEET, STS, Andromeda, ARES and LOUD.

a. SWEET - SWEET is a Trading System used for trading RMBS (Residential Mortgages) agency Pass-through securities namely: Pools and TBAs.

SWEET is a suite of applications used for Trading RMBS (Residential Mortgages) Agency Pass Through securities namely: Pools and TBAs. The Pass Through, Agency-CMO, CMO-Derivatives and CMO-Exotics desks, currently uses it. SWEET was built to replace the third-party product WINFITS. It caters to the high volume MBS market – driven by the MBS product characteristics, increased competition, regulatory changes (Fed Independent Pricing) and General product evolution.

b. STS - STS (Securitized Trading Systems) is a Trading and Position Management system used for Trading ABS (Asset Backed Securities), CMBS (Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities), RMBS (Residential Mortgage Backed Securities) and Associated Hedge Products (CMBX and ABX). STS is currently being used by the CRE, CMBS Secondary, ABS Consumer, ABS Residential, CDO/CLO and CMO Desks in NY and the CRE EU and EU ABS Desks in London as well as the Middle and Back Office teams supporting these desks. It provides Trade Capture, Position Management, Flash PnL + Risk (for CMBS, ABS, MBS, IR and FX Derivatives, Credit Derivatives, Corporates, Sovereigns, Index CDS, CMBX and Treasuries) as well as comprehensive reporting functionality.

3.c. Andromeda – Andromeda is the replacement for the XFI trade-processing engine. It will take over functionality in the US Cash Rates business to perform trade enrichment and limited analytics, matching of trader tickets with sales orders, and settlement trade generation.

Andromeda works as a workflow and rules processing engine based upon messages from source systems (Trade Manager, SWEET, STS, ORCA / COPS) and outputs messages to the downstream settlement systems – DTE and LET.

d. LOUD - LOUD is a deal origination, underwriting and closing system which track loans from registration to closing and securitization. LOUD data feeds into LS2 (books and records system) as well as STS (position management, P&L, and risk system for Securitized Trading). LOUD also interfaces with a document management system, and the Deutsche Bank global directory for internal contact management. This application is used by Commercial Real Estate US, Structured Finance ANZ and is being rolled out to GTB Asia, GTB Germany, and commercial Real Estate EU. As part of the rollout to GTB, LOUD will be integrated with the limit request tool, which is a system used by CRM for Credit Approvals. One of the other projects in 2016 book of work is integration with a system called Closer.

e. ARES - The ARES Sales Trader desktop is a complete and fully integrated pre-post trading platform for securitized trading & sales as well as Agency CMO RMBS Business.

The platform has been rolled out to 150+ sales people and 50+ traders globally since Q4 2011 and has driven a step change in Sales/Trader workflow away from voice interactions and spread sheets to systematic capture of voice data, automation of runs / offer sheets and the build-up of a powerful, real-time searchable database of market & trade data to drive trading decisions.

Role

Production Support Analyst

Responsibilities

My main role is to provide production support for SWEET, STS, Andromeda, ARES and LOUD systems. Have acquired very good knowledge in these systems and supporting front office traders who uses these trading systems.

oUNIX Expertise

Having good knowledge regarding UNIX. Worked extensively in Sun SOLARIS systems. Having the exposure working in the VI Editor.

Developing UNIX shell scripts to implement new requirements in the Deutsche applications, for production support and enhancing the existing shell scripts.

Developing automation/report scripts with help of Shell scripts.

Doing automation works using shell scripts – for example archival of all the reports which earlier used to be done manually daily / monthly now totally automated it and its doing deep archival automatically.

Enterprise Information Management (EIM) (Previously named as GMI/EDS project - Global Markets and Investment / Enterprise data services) –

EIM is a data standard mechanism in BoA/Merrill (Bank of America/Merrill Lynch) where the business data is formatted as per the requirements from the clients (inter bank or outside bank). This project looks into all the systems that are providing data redefinition along with data formatting. This project is part of the GCDS (Global Client Data Solution) initiative in Bank of America/Merrill Lynch. The financial information sent from several clients get processed and published to various business groups within ML. Project involves total seven inter-related systems namely Fusion (Central source of Product Reference Data within Merrill Lynch which supports all Products - Equities, Entitlements, Options, Mutual Funds, Fixed Income), PME (Product Master Environment), STS (Smart trading systems), ADI (Architecture Definition Interface), VFH (Vendor Feed Handler), MSR (Messaging Services Router) and S3D (Single Standing Source of Data) which does the required complex data formatting as per the client requirements.

For Product and pricing, Merrill Lynch takes the feeds from the various data vendors like Reuters, Bloomberg, and Options clearing Corporation (OCC), TELEKURS, Standard and Poors and ISID etc. These vendors collect the data from the stock exchanges around the globe.

The EIM applications are responsible for pulling the data from the above-mentioned information feeding vendors, then consolidate, filter and feeding/loading it to the downstream systems on a real time basis. The rules engine works in between for dynamic flows of data to various systems.
