SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Hands on key technical leader designing and implementing embedded real time software solutions for automatic testing of discrete semiconductors sold globally; ensured quality, reliability and performance of these systems. Provided full-cycle project delivery of digital logic design in military quality data acquisition systems, HF communication gear, discrete semiconductor test systems, and more by applying wafer mapping, curve tracing, and various engineering and statistical metrics. Interfaced discrete test systems to various Electroglas probers and Ismeca Handlers. Wrote multiple GPIB-488 and RS232 device drivers for external equipment including ITC inductive load testers,Tesec thermal testers, and many LCR meters. Collaborated directly with customers and across business function teams to provide expert analysis and support for testing requirements.

Key Projects and Impact:

Contributed to client’s sales of ~1000 test systems (worth $100M) by coding about 90% of the software and overseeing full-cycle project management. End result was a robust, cost-effective, and revenue-generating system with multiple uses such as Wafer Probe, Final Test, and Engineering Evaluation modes.

Designed and debugged a number of digital logic boards that provided a variety of I/O including Parallel, Serial RS232, and Gpib 488 that interfaced to various customer equipment. Wrote numerous software drivers for these cards that efficiently interfaced to a real time operating system.

Implemented system modifications that added value and met unique testing requirements of key customers including Motorola (Onsemiconductor, LPS, Freescale), Vishay/Siliconix, Fairchild, and Infineon.

Designed and implemented various dc,ac and pulsed tests for discrete devices including diodes, fets, bipolar transistors, puts, igbts, scrs, triacs, ssovps, and voltage regulators.

Served as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Gpib488 use by interfacing to numerous probers, handlers, and Hp/Agilent test equipment. Trained and transferred knowledge to team to help keep company cutting-edge.
