Overview

I am a highly motivated and intelligent team player. I have solid experience in leading multiple departments and teams as well as working individually with exceptional results. Valuable communication skills and the ability to adapt to ever-changing environments have allowed me to advance rapidly at several organizations. My experience in the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) field is also coupled with 10+ years of production supervision/management experience. My Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) from Columbia Southern University was conferred in May of 2015. WORK EXPERIENCE:

Safety Manager/Safety Training Manager Ohio River Bridge – (ORB)

3/4/2014 to Present - Walsh Construction Company/Walsh Vinci Construction (JV).

The Ohio River Bridge (ORB) project that spans from Kentucky into Southern Indiana is one of the largest infrastructure projects presently in the United States and is split into two crossings (separate projects). My responsibilities range throughout the entire project which falls under Heavy Civil Construction. These duties include, but are not limited to, site safety, cultural enhancement, performed inspections and all project related training. Personal Protective Equipment acquisition and inventory tracking along with matrix based curriculum oversight were also placed within my scope of work. This project is also part of the OSHA Voluntary Partnership Program (VPP). I have been assigned to all shifts and all areas of the project from vast cable stay bridges to tunnels and major heavy civil highway construction in the most demanding of environments. Knowledgeable in the use of explosives underground and above, along with Modification of Traffic (MOT) due to multiple phases on a planned time-line. Interaction with all departments related to the project and coordination of corporate training are normal functions within my scope of work. Database tracking and recordkeeping along with trending tactics enabled the sections to modify the culture within the organization as a whole for better safety performance. My skills as an instructor placed me in the position of project trainer after one year with the organization. Not only is the project one of the largest of its type in the country, Walsh Construction entered into a joint venture with Vinci Construction (a reputable French construction company) for the East End Crossing portion of the job. The last quarter of 2015 I was stationed in the crossing that won the very prestigious Mathew Miles II safety award which I authored in regards to training concepts used for the betterment of the company.

Marathon Oil Company – Perform all orientation and handled all Safety Management on-site. Construction of research/development equipment inside of an existing facility. PHMSA DOT program management and OSHA documentation. I was sought after for several months to cover this position. Standards interpretation and design of protection systems was heavily incorporated due to the scope of the project. Hazardous atmospheric conditions along with high risk construction applications were handled on a daily basis. JHA creation for each trade daily and performed all Safety Orientation for everyone on the project. My performance was received with management of the client that I was offered a position with them prior to completion of work.

Clark Material Handling Company (General Industry) - Both facilities (Lexington and Louisville), Extensive program creation/modification and training for compliance in all items related to OSHA guidelines. Vast auditing, observation and investigation work done to tailor site-specific agenda and strategically execute the generation of a functional safety culture. From the creation of project proposals to closing conference with part owner/President CEO of this Global Company with excellent results. This project resulted in the Governors Safety Award for BOTH facilities the following year. KEMI insurance also awarded Clark top honors for this safety program.

Toyota (TMMK Georgetown, KY) Sub-contractor on-site safety compliance for Construction activities inside of the manufacturing facility. Held safety meetings; Review/confirm all JSA's and Lock-Out Tag-Out procedures. I had to be constantly aware of surroundings and the hazards involved with equipment installation and movement at all times. Answered to Duncan machinery movers, TMMK manager and TMMK safety on multiple projects up to and including bridge-crane installation with zero incidents.

Toyota (TMMI Indiana) Sub-contractor on-site safety compliance for Construction activities inside of the manufacturing facility. Held safety meetings; Review/confirm all JSA's and Lock-Out Tag-Out procedures. Very similar scope of work to the Kentucky plant stated above. Answered to multiple subcontractors, TMMI manager and TMMI safety on multiple projects.

Safety Officer – high profile construction project

2/19/2011 to 10/19/2011 RandStad for Denham-Blythe – Lexington Ky.

Responsible for EHS for a high profile construction project at Corning located in Harrodsburg, Ky. Oversite for all construction personnel and interaction with Corning staff to ensure safety, environmental and security functions were carried out per client. Duties included but not limited to, incident/accident investigation, auditing, corrective actions, emergency response, spill cleanup and regulated removal, disciplinary action, all workers compensation and PPE. Thorough knowledge of General industry 1910 CFR standards and equal proficiency in 1926 construction standards was paramount in importance for this endeavor to be successful. This project was completed, and I continued with my education to finish my degree in OSHA at Columbia Southern University.
