Title of the Project : DYNAMO STREET LAMPS

Team size : Four members

About the Project:

We made use of Freewheels which is used in the Bicycles, a solid shaft, two rack and pinion arrangements, ball bearings, springs, etc..It is compact which can be installed in the roads .When the vehicle passed over the set up the rack moves down and allows the free wheel to rotate in the positive direction, which allows the shaft also to rotate. And the shaft rotates with the weight of the Flywheel. Thus the shaft is connected to the Dynamo with Chain drive. And the current generated by the Dynamo is saved in the battery. With the help of DAY/NIGHT sensor the street lamps are glow.

About the Project:

In conventional transmission systems the driver and driven should be in same axis. If driver axis is changed to 15 the axis of driven also must be changed to 15 or else failure of machine element will take place. In our project we are modifying the chain so which the driver can be placed stationary and driven can be oscillated by -45 to +45 .By this work the power can be transmitted from a fixed power source to some of the oscillating devices like steering.

In this work we use two software

UNIGRAPHICS NX 6.0(for modeling)

ANSYS (for analysis.)
