EDUCATION AND TECHNICAL SKILLS
China University of petroleum 2012-2015
BSc degree in petroleum engineering. Major GPA 3.17
Zimbabwe School of Mines 2009-2011
National Diploma in Mining Geology 13 Credits and 1 Distinction
A GPA does not measure a person's emotional intelligence, it does not measure their leadership ability, it does not necessarily measure their ability to think outside of the box and solve problems. It does nothing to evaluate a person's ability to predict the needs of society or consumers. It does nothing to illuminate the ability of an individual to work with others and find middle ground in standoffs or conflicts. All of these things are vitally important to an individual's success in life and almost none of them are measured by grades. Grades, GPAs and standardized test scores largely measure one's ability to answer questions and regurgitate information and not much else. With that being said, l worked hard to get that GPA, but my abilities are impressive.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Shengli Oilfield (SINOPEC). Dongying, China
Reservoir engineering intern Jul – Sept 2014
Trained and obtained numerical reservoir simulation skills, ECLIPSE.
Did a Case study of petro-physical analysis of sandstone.
Monitored and analyzed all surveillance programs for reservoir performance.
Established all developed and undeveloped reserves and maintained an efficient reserve system.
Maintained documents of both drilling and other production operations.
Predicted the reserves and performance for well proposals.
Sabi Gold Mine (Zimbabwe Mining Development Council)
Geological technician Apprenticeship Jan 2010 – Jan 2011
Compiled mapping and assay information using VULCAN and correlated it with existing model
Collected and systematically recorded accurate geological information on both underground development and surface exploration.
Designed the developments and grade control drilling programs for ore definition and mine scheduling.
Mapped out geological information (including geo-technical information when required) from surface and underground workings (both old and current workings), and continually updated the data in Vulcan design databases.
Ensured that all hydrological data is collected, monitored, analyzed, and interpreted accordingly.
Logged out collar and down hole details, lithological, structural and analytical information from diamond drill core as required.
Compiled and validated drilling data; including assay results, down hole survey, geology logging
Coordinated closely with Exploration and underground Geology to utilize planned holes for hydrology data collection.
Calculated monthly reserve/resource estimates.
