Completed environmental permitting for the construction of a proposed solar plant while at Terracon. Responsible for development of utility company as a client and providing guidance for environmental permitting for proposed solar plant. Managed project and provided permitting requirements necessary to complete construction of solar plant. Successfully completed survey of entire property of threatened gopher tortoise and the removal of animals to an approved mitigation bank prior to construction.

Responsible for development of proposals ranging from Phase I ESAs to complex environmental permitting projects for Terracon and Golder Associates. Completed proposals ranging in size from small projects with budgets under $5k to larger projects of over $100k. Assisted in development of groundwater and surface water sampling projects which included long-term sampling requirements. Completed several projects reaching No Further Action with state and local regulatory agencies. Developed multiple stormwater pollution prevention plans for scrap metal recycling facilities and manufacturers at Golder Associates and Terracon. Reviewed facility’s current permits, plans and training of site personnel as well as facility site plan. Reviewed regulatory requirements for each facility to determine proper best management plans and required sampling protocols. Developed training modules for multiple facilities to administer to personnel as part permit requirements. Created business development model for EarthCon’s proposed expansion of environmental services in northeast Florida and southeast Georgia. Assisted in development of complex soil and groundwater sampling protocol for new client in northwest Georgia for EarthCon. Lead field crews in collection of groundwater and surface water samples as part of complete site assessment. Collected groundwater samples from over 25 locations and assisted in collection of over 20 soil borings to over 40 feet below grade surface. Trained junior field personnel in correct sampling procedures for both groundwater and surface water sampling. Assisted in development of client base within scrap metal industry and the continuation of environmental oversight projects with utility companies. Coordinated national effort for increasing market share within scrap metal recycling industry with Golder Associates Solid Waste National Leader. Assisted in development of sediment sampling plan for an urban lake impacted with lead run-off from local stormwater inflows and release of lead from a former tile manufacturer. Collected numerous samples throughout lake basin including samples of flocculent sediments for analysis to determine relative concentrations throughout lake basin. Oversight of phytoremediation of lake with removal of hydrilla to lower lead concentrations in surface waters. Successfully removed over 320 tons of hydrilla and 3kg of dissolved lead in harvested plant tissues.

Worked as part of a team of biologists in monitoring intakes of several power plants throughout Florida to assess potential impacts on local fishery populations as part of Section 316b of the Clean Water Act. Responsible for collection of phytoplankton, fish and invertebrate samples on bi-weekly events over the course of a two year monitoring plan. Field identification of fish and invertebrate species including size and weight. Assisted in conducting survivability studies of impinged fish and invertebrates from select power plants.

Responsible for oversight of large scale source removal effort including multiple subcontractors and field support from local office at Golder Associates for large-scale project with budget of approximately $1.8M. Successfully removed over 25,000 metric tons of benzo(a)pyrene impacted soils from numerous properties throughout northeast Florida. Collection of confirmatory samples at each site, oversight of subcontractors responsible for mechanical excavation of impacted material. Coordinated staffing of field personnel for environmental oversight of remedial activities. Completed project within budget and time constraints.
