Getting Quotations/RFQ, Price Costing & Negotiation For The New Drawing Items/Regular Items For The New Supplier/ Second Source Development.

Cross Costing And Identifying The Existing Items With The Existing Suppliers And Amending The Price In The SAP.(i.e. Cost Reduction Method)

Follow Up The Critical/Bottle Neck Items, Which The Dispatches Had Not Held Up, Due To The Materials Shortage/Rejection Etc,Had Been Taken Care.

If Any Of The Purchase Team Employee's on Leave or Left The Job, The Particular MRP Controllers Items Has been Handled,Unless and Until the New Joiner Has To Be Handled And Training Has Been Provided For The Same.

Performing Competitive Bidding with Supplier's and Market Survey through various means for price comparisons and making SR Sheets for price management.

Reponsible for assigned DUNS to interact with the plant coordinator for build timings & plant requirement details, maintaining a count of parts in warehouse and inventory

Preparation of SR Sheets for Price comparison and excel records for Plant calls and database.

Interact with the plant coordinator for build timings & plant requirement details, for maintaining a count of parts in warehouse and inventory.

Actively involved in contracting suppliers for regular and service parts.

Negotiation with vendor for better price, delivery & payment terms.

Getting quotations & Samples, Costing and Sourcing of Supplier.

Cost Saving initiatives through alternate sourcing, negotiation and value engineering.

Ensuring compliance (of products) with legal and normative requirements as well as with respective risk management results.

Foreign Suppliers and Local Suppliers handling for issuing of PO and positive price negotiation and keeping the inflows running as per the requirement from the GM.

ADDED DUTIES: QualityAssurance

Supplier end visits with GM APQP SQE to verify the Supplier procedures for purchase and quality of the products produced is according to the standard put forth by General Motors.

Providing PPAP approvals based on Engineering Changes made to parts prior to shipment to GM assembly plant.

To review all relevant design records/PPAP documentation submitted by GM suppliers before approving the quality of parts shipped to GM and Run@Rate approvals after PPAP completion.

Coordinate with suppliers and ensure timely supply and quality of raw materials.

Good Knowledge of Material Composition and New Product / Vendor Development Process & Part Approval Process (APQP & PPAP knowledge)

Good ability to interact with cross functional teams to solve issues of payment terms and PO budget maintenance for issuing of PO's.

Have good knowledge in, Quality Tools: PFMEA, PPAP, 8D, SPC, and MSA etc.

Process audit knowledge (including review of FMEA / Control Plan / MSA).

Able to read & interpret engineering drawings (GD&T)& symbols.

Good Communication Skills and easily converse with the requestor/Client for any clarifications regarding Purchasing of parts.

Basic Knowledge of ISO/TS-16949 Quality Systems.

Project:“Design & Fabrication of Bluetooth Controlled Screw Jack”

Review: The project was undertaken to design and fabrication of a screw jack using CATIA which can take the command from the user using his/her cell phone with the built in blue tooth protocol to control automobile jack accordingly. This advance technique of automated screw jacks is frequently used to lift heavy vehicles like cars, trucks and other heavy machinery.
