. Gather patients data
. Prepare the necessary material needed for the procedure
. Orient and explain the procedure to the patient
. Inform and instruct patient to shampoo hair and there should be no
hair gel or oil applied to hair for out patients or walk in patients
. For pediatric patients let the patient sleep first before doing the
procedure since an EEG tracing during sleep is routinely done, so
instruct the mother or significant others to let the patient sleep
late the night before the procedure and wake him/her up early the
next day
. Give or administer medicine (Diphenhydramine 1 mg/kg/dose will be
given 15-30 minutes prior to the procedure to help them sleep
. Perform the procedure accurately with specific of the patient's
movement while the procedure is going on
. Do bedside EEG for patients who are morbid like Intensive Care Unit
(ICU), Intensive Coronary Care Unit (ICCU), Pediatric Care Unit
(PICU), Neonatal Care Unit (NICU) and also to room and wards for
patient that can not be brought to the area for the procedure
. Inform the physician on call for reading the EEG and for have it
officially read
. Forward and attach results to the patients chart

. Instruct patient to take off their shoes, lower socks or stocking,
fold pants 1 or 2 times higher, lie down relax and show chest without
undershirt and for female patients unhook the bra
. Perform the procedure, get ECG to patients (adults and infants or
pediatrcis)
. Do bedside ECG to patients who are not ambulatory and not able to
transport to ECG department
. Paste the tracing to the cardboard
. Let the resident on duty to do the preliminary reading before letting
the consultant on call to officially read the ECG
. Type and attach the result and then file after
. Get physician's order for 24 hour holter monitoring
. Gather patients data
. Prepare the necessary material needed for the procedure
. Orient and explain to the patient about the procedure
. Let patient sign waiver for the monitor and recorder to be brought by
the patient home for out patient
. Inform physician on call for reading
. Forward and attach results to patients chart
