Dear Hiring Manager,
For the past 10 years I have been working in the re-entry field for various departments within different not for profit agencies, thus allowing me to be a valuable asset to aid in the implementation of programs starting anew, or supplementing and developing already stable programs. Recently, I worked as a Benefits Specialist Coordinator at ICL, I coordinated the Summer Youth Employment Program at The Community Service Sentencing Project that successfully placed and followed the retention of 200 youth. I have additionally been in the Employment Services Department at The Fortune Society. There, I ran the gamut of different opportunities to learn as much as I could to help people in their ongoing battles to overcome substance abuse and the consequences and wreckage caused by it. I coordinated outreach and case management for REXO Department of Labor contracts and was part of a team responsible for meeting the benchmarks and milestones set forth. Personally, I played a role in advancing the intakes by 238% and meeting said quotas for enrollment. Over the years, I was also a guest speaker on many different panel discussion presentations, including Department of Corrections Discharge Enhancement Retreats, ongoing panels who speak to the “rookies” at the Legal Aid Society quarterly and even promotional pilots for the Netflix series Orange is the New Black and many other internet and news articles. My years as a Programs Manager/Discharge Planner on Riker’s Island also included finding and matching clients to resources, and finding and matching community organizations to come in to the facility and run self-help groups (AA and NA) and activities such as job clubs and mentoring activities. I was responsible for tracking the retention of clients to meet 30, 60 and 90 day and yearly milestones to try to help cut down on recidivism rates. I am proud to say that as a member of that team, we achieved 100% on all audits from the Department of Corrections.
Additionally, and most importantly, my administrative skills are strong as well. I understand and have adopted a check and double check system to maintain continuity of files and folders and adhere to time frames set forth by funders for reports due. Prior to my work at I have also worked in the for profit world at IBM, Lehman Brothers and Bally’s. At these positions I built my foundation of professionalism and learned how to research topics, gather information, cross reference, present information in meetings, and find the “best practice” methods to meet deadlines.
Sincerely,
Patricia Wysock
My salary range is in the low to mid 40’s.
