After 9 years serving as a guardsman in the British army I resigned my post and started on a new career path within the oil and gas sector, I now have 22 years' experience working within the oil and gas division; I started my career in the UK as a roughneck with Kenting drilling working my way up to become the well services field superintendent in Occidental of Oman.

In the UK my role was to supervise the well service department for the UK's second biggest oil and gas producer, I resigned my post and started my own limited company in order to advance my knowledge and career by becoming a contractor, for the past five years I have been employed as the well services field superintendent for Occidental in Oman North, due to the current low oil price and cost savings within Oxy I have become one of many to be released. I now have the opportunity to broaden my skills within an environment that would provide me with greater challenges; I am now looking to enhance the skills and knowledge that I have gained within a similar environment with a company who appreciates loyalty and integrity.

Whitehouse oil and gas solutions UK

After leaving Star energy I created my own limited company in order to enhance my skills and knowledge within the oil and gas industry, periodically I contract myself out to Plutus Environmental solutions writing programs and acting as the technical manager for them when companies are approached for hydrocarbon clean-up operation's.

Well services Supervisor

The last 9 years that were spent in the UK I was the Well Services supervisor, I carried out many work overs on a number of different types of wells, I was responsible for implementing the HSE documentation, hiring the rig and equipment, overseeing the whole operation making sure that it was carried out as per the program and above all safely, my roles on site were to write up all the reports, carry out well control drills, carry out the technical calculations, take tubing tallies, check measurements of all sub surface, BHA, equipment going in the hole, carry out HAZOP, SIMOPS, and supervise all other contract companies and production personnel on site.

After the completion of the work overs it was then my responsibility to re-instate the well back to operational duty, followed by the review and write up on the whole operation.

I was currently the safety representative for the well service department, my roles included writing daily programs, risk assessment, method statement, then audit and review all jobs undertaken within the well service team. I also completed my NEBOSH general certificate and worked very closely with our HSE department.

The company continued to win ROSPA awards for safety in the work place and as such we prided ourselves on achieve these goals.

Our department owned its own wire line truck and associated tools therefore we were able to carry out our own well intervention operation's, these included, running and pulling down hole plugs, pulling and setting gas lift valves, opening and closing sliding side doors, as well as maintaining all aspects on the Pressure Control Equipment.

We also worked very closely with any drilling/work over rigs helping run completions, setting packers and pressure testing. TREE/CELLAR INTEGRITY (UK) Following the HSE standard I was continually performing routine tree and cellar integrity tests. This involved inflow testing the well head, Annulus pressure integrity and valve maintenance, we also carried out regular beam pump maintenance and jet pump reversals. COMPUTERS Familiar with Excel, Word, power point, Office, Open wells and fully conversant with Echomeater for the use of obtaining fluid levels and carrying out Dyno's on beam pumps.

As well services safety rep I was constantly on site recording safety audits. We held safety meetings once a month to discuss any findings, near misses, accidents or incidents.

It was also my responsibility to keep up to date with all legislation regarding the oil and gas industry that were directed towards the well service division. Well service supervisor May 2002 to Dec 2010
