Vital Insights

Human Resource Department

Dear Human Resource Director,

Upon reviewing your job advertisement I had to take advantage of this opportunity to become a member of the Vital Insights team. I feel confident in my ability to be a successful candidate as both my personal and professional experience closely mirror the required qualifications.

As I have recently completed my four year program at Ryerson University where I earned my Bachelor of Commerce, Hospitality and Tourism degree, I come equipped with a strong hospitality and tourism background. My passion for growth within this industry resulted in me generating 2 years of work experience in Canada and the Caribbean. These opportunities enabled me to foster a wide variety of transferrable skills such as: communication skills; interpersonal; leadership; problem-solving; and analytical skills.

Beyond the abovementioned skills, there are lessons such as being mindful of cultural differences and practices, being assertive yet diplomatic, adhering to deadlines and the importance of employing empathy and utilising emotional intelligence in the work place that have been instilled in me throughout my various experiences. I am confident that these qualities will be important assets to have within and beyond the Vital Insights working environment.

I took a keen interest in research in my final year at Ryerson. This passion for understanding new patterns and creating links through research resulted in an A grade for my research course and a job with the Hospitality research institute as a research assistant. Additionally, my strong oral and written communication skills were key assets in my successful integration to the world of research.

When combined, my skills within the hospitality industry, as well as my sensibilities and passion proves me to be an excellent candidate for the role of Marketing Specialist. Further information about my skills and competencies can be found in my resume, which will follow this cover letter. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to have further communications with you.

Warm regards,

Quincia Gumbs.
