JEDDAH (SAUDI ARABIA) MARCH 2012 PRESENT

Presently I am working as a Senior Electrical Design Engineer / Project Manager on the SEC-WOA Project of the Saudi Electricity Company. To review the Electrical design submittals of the 132kv / 110kV / 13.8kV of substations, and managing the technical meetings with contractors to resolve the problems of the schematic drawings, submittals on the technical and contractual matters and tendering work for the substation to evaluate the accurate and safe position for the Execution job at the site.

Responsibilities of Substation Design Review Job:-

Review of Design of (substation) 132/110kV/33kV / 13.8kV for HV/LV system.

Review of Operational single line diagram for 132/110kV/33kV / 13.8kV.

Evaluation of QA/QC program.

2. {Karachi Electric Supply Company Oil & Energy/ EXECUTIVE ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

Utilities/Power Industry} (March 2002 to March 2012)

Responsibilities:

1) - Review and approve the engineering drawings of contractor and issue clarifications, technical recommendations at site in 132/11 KV substation.

2)- Review of project drawings, equipment’s layout drawings, power cables raceways, cable trays, duct banks layout drawings, power T/F 's foundations layout drawings, control panels layout drawings, relay settings calculations. Supervising and witnessing of electrical activities testing and commissioning activities in 132/11 KV substation.

3) - Witness the progress of the project and adopt various measures to enhance the activities of the project.

4)-witness/supervise the work of floor openings for equipment’s, cable trenches, ducts banks, power cable raceways, and control cable trays in building, 132KV GIS building & 11 KV switchgear buildings.

5) -Supervise the work of AC/DC lighting, small power installation, and receptacles installation in 132 KV GIS & 11 KV buildings.

6- Witness/supervise the work of installation of (50/70 MVA, 132/11KV) 3-number Power Transformer according to PTS.

7)-Supervise/witness the work of installation of Power Transformers, GIS foundations, L.C.C.panels,bay units, control panels, HVAC panels, power cables, control cables, lighting in GIS building &11 KV switchgear building, laying of power and control cables in cable trays and raceways, lighting poles& lightning masts, D.C battery & rectifiers, power transformers/station transformers accessories such as radiator tubes, HV/LV bushings, neutral bushing, cooling fans, conservator tank, oil level indicators, buchholz relay etc.

8) - Check/supervise the work of Installation, testing & commissioning of overhead traveling crane (5-tons) in 132 KV GIS Building.

09) - Check/supervise the work of D.C battery and battery Chargers installation and testing at site such as (specific gravity test, volt/cell test, capacity test, discharge test).

10) - Monitor/check the Testing of static/numerical O/C, Distance; earth Fault, differential Relays, Relay panels function and scheme checks.

11) - Supervise/monitor the work of vacuum and SF6 gas filling process in 132 KV GIS equipment’s.

12)-Witness/monitor the Installation and testing of Earthling system & lightening protection in the substation.

13)-supervising /Checking of Terminations & Testing of EHV power cables 132 KV with High voltage tests, Insulation resistance tests, capacitance tests, impedance test and phasing of power cables etc.

3. {Karachi Electric Supply Company Oil & Energy/ SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

Utilities/Power Industry} (February 1996 to April 2002)

Responsibilities:

Project: - 132KV Grid stations and Transmission Lines.

1) - Supervise the work of Installation, testing, commissioning, operation and maintenance 132/11 KV substations (K.E.S.C .Termination & Testing of 11 KV cables

(500/1000 MCM) XLPE copper cables with High voltage test, insulation resistance test and apply Raychem terminations over it.

2)-Termination & Testing of 11KV 4/0 AWG cables with High voltage test, insulation resistance test and apply Raychem terminations over it.

3)-Termination & Testing of LV cables including different sizes (range 4x10 mm2 up to 4x14 mm2) with 1KV Megger insulation tester.

4)-Installation & Fixing of LV Circuit Breakers of different ratings, Disconnect Switches (rating 20 A to 1200 A),

5)-Installation & Fixing of M.C.C in protection panels for grid station equipment’s including control & power wiring Y- connections, self-starters etc.

6)-Installation & fixing of street lighting & Building lighting with different type of lighting fixtures, wiring gang switches, push buttons, contactors.

7)-Installation, testing & commissioning of earthing system network & lightening protection

8)-Supervise the work of installation of CT, PT, C.B, Power T/F, and D.C Battery in a grid station.

9)-Proper supervision of Material & quality work of grid stations.

4. {Karachi Electric Supply Company Oil & Energy/ ASSISTANT ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

Utilities/Power Industry} (January 1990 to January 1996)

Worked on different positions from time to time such as, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE), Deputy Executive Engineer (DEE), Acting Manager, and Manager, in various departments such as Construction, Distribution, Operations and Planning, and held valuable tasks and assignments.

To prepare and provide the proposals of the improvement of system for the rehabilitation of LT network.

Remain responsible for maintaining the normalization after break down.

Responsible for planning, preparation and execution of the schemes for the rehabilitation of system.
