Voluntary and involuntary units at 6 psychiatric hospitals in the Puget Sound area, of which, regular staff/charge at 1, per-diem at 1, agency nurse at 4.

Chemical dependency / Detox

Charge/staff nurse responsible for acute drug and alcohol withdrawal of clients on a 32 bed acute unit and medical for the 20 bed subacute unit. Worked independently on 2 acute drug and alcohol detox facilities, along with meeting medical needs.

Med-psych

Charge/staff nurse on a 20 bed voluntary psych, dual diagnosis hospital unit.

Corrections

Agency medical nurse. Duties include triage, responding to medical emergencies, dressing changes, med passes, diabetes management, work with correction officers.

Med-surg

Renal transplant unit including urology, gyn and general surgery. IV’s, TPN, lipids, blood products, PCA’s, central line/triple lumen care, complex drsg changes, colostomy care, dopplers, drains, catheters, pre and post-op care.

Home health

Medically intensive care of quadriplegic and brain damaged clients with trachs and vents. Total care. G-tubes, kangaroo pumps, catheterizations, PT, hoyer lifts, dyna-splints, Communication development. Created exercises based on the VA’s CI therapy (constrained-induced movement) to increase the brains plasticity and brain-body coordination.
