Principal Hardware Supply Manager 11/12 - Present

Lead a team of supply chain professionals tasked with delivering network infrastructure, high speed cables, and integrated racks to multiple endpoints around the world. Responsible for team strategy development, talent acquisition and metrics and scorecards.

Responsible for the end to end supply chain of network infrastructure to Microsoft’s data centers. Primary responsibilities include forecast and inventory management, delivery execution, logistics and supplier relationship management. Scale and scope of spend is $x00M and spans dozens of suppliers around the world.

Collaborate with business partners and internal stakeholders to develop sourcing, fulfillment and delivery strategies to enable online services for dozens of Microsoft business groups. Some of these strategies include global warehousing, phase in/phase out of technology and new supplier onboarding.

Develop, maintain and manage to key performance indices related to on-time delivery, cost reduction/avoidance and inventory management.

Drove many continuous improvement initiatives including continuity of supply planning, order management execution changes, and metrics reporting.

Work with Finance, Engineering Groups and Strategic Sourcing to develop capital expenditure forecasts and budgets for Microsoft’s online business groups. Also represent Supply Chain / Procurement in the development of written processes for Sarbanes Oxley compliance.

Oracle (formerly Tekelec), Global Operation Services, Global Procurement and Quality Morrisville, NC

Sr. Manager, Direct Materials Procurement 6/04 – 10/12

Managed a team of procurement professionals whose primary responsibilities include year over year cost reduction, supplier relationship building, new product introduction, and material management. Responsible for 100% of Corporate COGS material spend inclusive of the following commodities: EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services), OEM hardware and software, fabricated assemblies, electronic components and installation material.

Developed key performance indicators to monitor supplier performance, inventory turn objectives and continuity of supply planning. Responsible for material cost reduction forecasts, material disposition plans (excess and obsolescence) and objective setting.

Served as the Business Process Owner for Procurement where I developed and updated procedures, represented the department in audits, and defined IT requirements. Rolled out many strategic IT initiatives including iProcurement, iSupplier Portal, Oracle Time and Labor and EDI (all Oracle applications), each of which increased efficiency and productivity and improved collaboration.

Relocated a supply base from California to North Carolina in support of localized manufacturing. Established a European distribution hub for installation material for Tekelec's local customer base; resulted in reduced freight costs, quicker responsiveness for local installers and total cost of deployment reduction.

Successfully transitioned the supply chains of Tekelec's acquisitions without interruption to business operations. Developed integration and migration plans to assimilate acquired companies with Tekelec.

Responsible for managing and developing services strategies for technical service providers who augmented Tekelec's Installation, Program Management, and Professional Services organizations.

Purchasing Manager 1/00 – 6/04

Developed and maintained strategic relationships with component Suppliers. Monitored suppliers’ performance to mutually agreed upon metrics for use in supplier development. Responsible for the management of 10+ suppliers including some of the world’s largest semiconductor suppliers. Managed the annual spend of over $150 Million worth of material including the responsibility for annual cost saving targets.

Developed sourcing strategies and evaluated suppliers for potential use in Lucent applications. Responsible for analyzing companies’ financial stability for their inclusion in Lucent’s supply base. Performed commodity market analysis of suppliers in their respective markets. Involved in supply base optimization activities including supplier reduction and supplier augmentation.
