I grew up in the UK and after leaving school with good exam results I quickly became interested in large goods

vehicles. I obtained the British equivalent of a CDL and moved from the driving to the operational side.

I currently reside in Phoenix, AZ but I am now looking to move to Florida.

I work hard and thrive in a transport based environment. Having driven heavy trucks myself I understand what

happens out on the road. I can communicate successfully with anyone from drivers to CEO's to get the job

WORK EXPERIENCE

DRIVER MANAGER/ WEEKEND OPERATIONS MANAGER

KNIGHT PORT SERVICES - Phoenix, AZ - October 2015 to Present

Responsibilities

Responsible for the weekend operations of both Phoenix and Las Vegas depots.

Planning and updating of all operational trucks and drivers. I will be controlling between 1 and up to 150 trucks,

dependant on demand at the ports in Los Angeles, at the weekend. My current working week consists of

Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Conversant with live traffic management systems and AS 400 system.

Accomplishments

Brought on new customers.

Educate drivers to give them a better understanding of driver’s hour’s regulations and electronic logs.

Helped drivers utilize their hours giving both them and the company more miles.

Built relationships with both dry van and refrigeration divisions so I could get back loads for our own drivers.

Assist drivers in the phoenix yard with truck and chassis issues.

Responsible for day to day running of the office. Import and export container paperwork including customs

paperwork. FTL and LTL loads across the USA. Responsible for the warehouse and the warehouse inventory.

Responsible for local deliveries. Answering client’s queries and tracking of containers and goods sent by 3PL.

To oversee cross docking.

TRANSPORT MANAGER

CAMBS CONTRACTORS - EUROPE WIDE - 2006 to September 2014

I was a road based transport manager dealing with 18 drivers whilst also driving myself.

Transported everything from general cargo to formula one racing cars. This was done using mainly temperature controlled trailers.

Responsible for making sure that each driver reached their location in a safe and timely manner.

This was done for a major blue chip client. Had to deal with breakdowns and accidents, routing vehicles for

the best performance. Responsible for ensuring paperwork was emailed to the UK each week and that drivers

time sheets were handed in. Dealt with driver disputes over hours. Ensured that drivers kept to legislation in

regards to hours. Disciplinary hearings and appraisals.

All 18 vehicles were brand new formula one race spec trucks.

To be a transport manager in the UK you have to have this. It regards all of the British laws regarding trucks.

CERTIFICATE OF PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE EUROPE

This is in addition to the UK CPC and is needed for transport managers that run trucks into mainland Europe.

Again it covers all the laws regarding trucks being used on the continent.

When you combine the UK and European CPC’s together it is the same as a law degree in the USA.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

I am looking to relocate to the northern area of Florida. I am currently in Phoenix, AZ.

I am also a PADI Dive-master with an emergency first responder’s certification.
