• I put my husband through Electrical Engineering College at Iowa State University-he was diagnosed with brain cancer-9 months after he graduated-he was only 29 yrs. old. My husband had 4 craniotomies-radiation and went blind. After fighting brain cancer for 13 yrs. MY HUSBAND DIED A SLOW DEATH. Passed away at the age of 41 yrs. old leaving behind a wife (me) and two kids. I became a young single mom. (1983-1995)
• I went back to school & received my BSN (05/17/1997). - after what my children had been through, I stayed home to raise them, my son is a Medical Doctor/Anesthesiologist and doing well, my daughter is a psychologist & also doing well. I went to the University of Iowa and took Masters degree courses, kept taking CEU’s for my RN license. (1995-2004). May 17, 2005, I moved to Tucson, AZ. Accepting a job at University of Arizona OR.
• After my kids were in to their careers, it was my turn- I remarried, my husband allowed me to resign from work to finish my thesis, complete my Nurse Practitioner clinical hours which totaled 770-(only 650 were required) and start to study for my FNP board exam. January 2014- I successfully passed the board & now I am MSN/FNP-C. (2005-2014)
• Elderly parents, family deaths, required my full attention. May father passed away May 2015, my mother passed Jan. 2016.
