Having 17 plus years of midwifery experience, I am able to be patient-focused, and have a demonstrated track record of providing compassionate and expert health care to low and high risk women and their families throughout the pregnancy period. Responsibilities
Provided full scope well-woman health care to women of childbearing age and in the menopausal period. This age span developmentally includes adolescent women, childbearing women, premenopausal women, menopausal women, including an age span of 13 to 60 years of age.
Performed complete history and physical examination on patients. Performed admissions diagnostics and care including, but not limited to pelvic examination, cervical cultures. Reports abnormal findings to physician. Provides counseling and health screens.
Responsible for the assessment, plan, implementation and evaluation of nurse midwifery care delivered to antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum, and newborn patients
Performed physical exams including pelvic examinations, collected and documented data, managed labor and spontaneous delivery, conducted diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, ordered and scheduled laboratory studies and professional consultations
Prescribed appropriate interventions and medications
Provided educational and other related services
Participated in Medical Staff meetings and performance improvement procedures such as chart audits/peer reviews
Maintained confidentiality in regards to patients, staff and program matters at all times
Consulted with other staff or specialists to make appropriate referrals for acute, chronic and preventive health care
