PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Distribution Center Manager, Weinberger’s Furniture, Augusta Georgia (May 2001 – Sept 2015

Direct the daily warehousing and distribution operations of a multi million a year retail furniture enterprise. Provides direct supervision over a 15 person workforce. Functions managed included inventory management, shipping and receiving, warehousing and customer service for three store locations. Provided supervision for ordering repair parts and coordinating repair service for customers.

Conducted a warehouse survey and time in motion study resulting in improved storage location accuracy, consolidation of storage locations and identification of excess stocks. Reduced customer wait time from three days to less than one day through streamlined ordering procedures and a revised delivery schedule. Reduced the costs of warehousing operations by 15%.

Senior Communications Systems Specialist, Janus Research Group, Augusta Georgia (April 1999 – May 2001)

Assigned as a Systems Engineer responsible for developing and analyzing Business Process Modeling for proponent Operational Architectures (OA) and System Architectures (SA) for the Command, Control, communications, and Computers Requirements Definition Program (C4RDP). Responsible for tactical communications analysis for Operational Facility (OPFAC) issue development for TRADOC Systems Managers. Property Accountability Officer, U. S. Army, 702d MI Group, Fort Gordon, Georgia (Retired Feb 1999) (Active Army Jan 1974 – Feb 1999)

Major items Logistics Manager for an inventory of highly sensitive communications and intelligence gathering equipment valued at $500M. Determined the initial equipment requirements and support matrix for a 950 employee (Army, Air Force, Marines, Navy, NSA, and Government Contractors) organization including the establishment of material accounts for all Supply Commodities. Coordinated all logistics functions; standard requisitioning, non-standard procurement, accounting, record keeping and warehousing (receiving, storing, issuing, shipping). Developed all internal logistics management regulations and correspondence. Administered all logistics training and led the Command Supply Discipline Inspection/Audit Team.

Senior Instructor and Chief Evaluator, U.S. Army Chief of Staff Supply Excellence Award Program, Fort Lee, Virginia

Conducted the Army’s Chief of Staff Supply Excellence Award competition to include formulating guidance for the annual competition, reviewing nominations, assembling evaluation teams and evaluating active and reserve component nominated units. Inspected units that utilized the Unit Level Logistics System (ULLS), the Standard Army Maintenance System (SAMS) and the Standard Property Book System (SPBS-R). Provided technical and administrative assistance to units and coordinated fielding of new equipment. Advised commanders on all levels of logistical operations. Responsible for logistics required to deactivate units as a result of drawdowns. Utilized the Unit Level Logistics System (ULLS), the Standard Army Maintenance System (SAMS) and the Standard Property Book System (SPBS-R) and other Combat Service Support automation systems.
