Career highlights

Associated with M/S Jindal Stainless Limited. Since 28th April 1997. JSL is a concern of repute situated at Hisar (Haryana), catering 60% of stainless steel in India. Company have acquired ISO 9001: 2000, 14001, 18001 certification. Plant has an annual Stainless Steel melting and hot rolling capacity of 0.8 million tonne.

1. Management Functions (2007 - till)

A). Manager (2013- till)

Manages and directs the activities of Steel Plant operations and production with respect to process logistics and metallurgy. Plans and supervises the achievement of output, cost, efficiency and quality targets. Investigates and monitors performance, analyses shortfall and abnormalities within the process, implements remedial actions and suggests technical change where necessary. In addition, giving support for new projects to Project Management (in case) concerning deficiencies and to provide both technical and managerial support to the Management of the Melt Shop in order to improve overall efficiency and effectiveness in this area. Monitor and control the metallurgy and schedule of the process and ensure smooth continuity of operation. Cooperate directly with Shift Leaders, Engineering, Refractory and material Handling to coordinate both production and maintenance facilities for the process operations. Supervises and carried out trials for cost savings and quality improvements. Ensures Steel Plant production targets are met. Follow up budgeted figures related to Steel Plant and ensures that there is no overrun of the budget. Ensures that other Steel Plant objectives like Cost Reduction, Safety and Environment Standards, etc. are achieved. Ensures that all necessary communication, instructions and agreements related to the process and from Management reaches everyone in the shop.

B). Associate Manager (2010-2013)

1.Managing overall activities pertaining to quality production & operation of system & equipment.

2.Supervising process activities in adherence to Indian & international standards & specification.

3.Well coordination with the subordinates from charge preparation to CCM.

4.Supervising the house keeping activities, ensuring availability of the various essential items in the shop.

2. Operational Functions (1997 - 2010)

1. Knowledge of electric arc furnace operations & melting . EAF has capacity of 40mt/36mva.

EAF is equipped with cojet & coke injector with power consumption of 450mwh/mt and

tap to tap time 60 minutes.

2.Fully conversant with ASM operation & melting. ASM vessel has 50mt capacity with five side

tuyeres.

ASM processing is running under IRS system with minimum 50 minutes process cycle

Expertise in melting all AISI grades consisting Austenitic, Martensitic, Ferritic & Duplex

grades.

3.Skilled in LRF operation & refining. LRF has capacity of 50mt/8mva.

Significant Accomplishments

1.Holds the distinction of handling the operation & production function.

2.Successfully earned a lot of admiration for efficiently reducing process cycle. As an ASM melter processed 9 heats in a shift & as a shift manager lifted 12 heats from LRF.

3.Lead a team of operation people for providing of value added projects like Cr recovery,Mn recovery, Si rate,Chemisty control, Process cycle & Refractory life.

4. Achieved ever highest AOD life of 222.
