- Physics and Maths tutor: I teach children from grade 7 in the international recognized Cambridge curriculum.

- Montessori Teacher in a 3 – 6 environment in New Zealand: The class size was around 25 children. The children came with 2 years and left at 6. The school has one classroom and a spacious outdoor area. I worked with 2 other teachers together.

- Physics and Maths tutor for Kip McGrath: I worked with up to 3 students, sitting together at a table, simultaneously. I enjoyed the planning and preparation of the weekly sessions and the learning hours themselves.

- Programmer and Researcher in Computer Physics in Germany & UK: During my Master thesis, PhD thesis and Post- Doc time I worked in the area of many-body physics with the Coupled Cluster Method (CCM): I calculated properties, e.g. energy levels and radii, of atomic nuclei.

- University teacher/tutor: I gave tutorials in theoretical physics and mathematics and worked as a instructor in an undergraduate physics laboratory.

- High-school and Secondary school teacher: I gave lessons in physics and maths and got trained by professional teachers.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am a passionate teacher and have the following teaching philosophy:

- I am very interested in Montessori – philosophy, which I studied at AMI: the teacher gives an introduction to the specific learning material and then the student explores further. It is very important for the teacher to keep track of the learning success of each student to know when the student is ready for a new learning material.

- I had contact with school pedagogy during my work as a maths & physics secondary and high-school teacher and I liked the group work approach in which the students solved the problem by themselves and in a team. In my undergraduate experimental physics laboratory exercises the students worked also in a team to solve the problem by themselves. In these laboratory exercises I gave first a theoretical introduction. It was very important for me that the students had a feeling for the experimental result numbers and could see if their measurements made sense. I liked also to repeat in the introduction the important points.

- For me it is important that the student has the chance to achieve learning results by their own efforts and gain confidence: that the teacher acts more like a mentor and stands back for questions if possible.

I am always looking for new challenges and I have a broad interest in applied science:

- I like the use of the computer for problem solving: In my work in Theoretical Physics and in IT as a Programmer and System Administrator I used Fortran, C, C++, Java, Java Script and HTML as programming languages.

- As a university researcher I worked and followed developments of the Coupled Cluster Method (CCM) and the Greens Function Method. I follow the use of this methods in my research area of many-body physics.
