Bank of America: V.P. Senior Consulting Systems Engineering Analyst

Lead Network Architect –Cyber Security Authentication Services Group July 2014 – Dec 2015

Key strategic bank project to Design, Test and Implement a new Authentication Services platform using the Aruba Networks ClearPass Policy Manager 25k appliance. Project will deploy multiple ClearPass appliances globally and manage authentication and authorization of 60,000+ routers and switches across APAC, AMRS and EMEA. This next generation solution replaced the Cisco 5.x ACS solution currently managing routers and switches.

Cisco ACS Migration project from Cisco ACS 4.x to 5.x and from HP-managed ACS servers to BAC-managed ACS servers. At the same time, migrated 60,000+ routers and switches globally in 4 months to the ACS 5.x platform. Advanced skills in using scripts in network management tool HPNA to modify router and switch configs for large scale changes. Migrated 2,000-3,000 devices per night.

Core team member developing the RFP for the next generation NAC (Network Access Control) solution for Bank of America.

Network Architect –Data Center Engineering Group Dec 2012 – July 2014

Core team member during Project Rewind Phase 2. This project pulled all Architecture & Engineering services back in house from HP to Bank of America. Key role in defining processes, procedures, knowledge transfer and identifying key critical HP network engineering personnel to be transitioned from HP to Bank of America.

SME Member of the Global Change Review Forum to review and approve all network engineering packages classified as “high risk” changes as part of the change process. This group approves approximately 10,000 network changes a month. Responsible for deep drive of all high-risk network engineering packages for final sign off and approval for change implementation.

Network Architect –Global Network Architecture & Engineering Group July 2011 – Dec 2012

Provide network governance and oversight for projects, as well as operational support, service delivery, and product management for Bank of America’s 180+ Global DMZs.

Develop relationships with internal BoA business stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure business requirements and technical standards are maintained for network infrastructure projects.

Consultant to business partners for network solutions and products to address business needs.

Management of external suppliers and strategic vendors that support BoA global network environment.

Provide product life cycle management focusing on aspects of planning, testing, deployment and integration, and network equipment refresh.

Project Specific Achievements:

Network Governance Lead Architect fop the e-Comm Consumer Banking NexGen project. Designed and implemented 3 new, fully-redundant, dedicated DMZ networking environments for the e-Comm Consumer Banking Group in 2011 & 2012. This was a $50 million project that used Cisco Nexus 2k,3k,5k and 7k switches.

Network Governance Lead for replacing DMZ3 Presentation Zone backbone switches with next generation Cisco Nexus switches and upgrading all DMZ Expansions to 10Gig uplinks.

Network Governance Lead for all DMZ Expansion projects to add additional DMZ capacity in AMRS Data Centers.

Bank Acquisitions & Transformation Projects:

Countrywide Financial Corp (CFC) – Project-managed 8-10 simultaneous networking projects over 2 years for CFC Transformation. Designed, implemented and seamlessly migrated business partner’s data network connections and applications to new Bank of America network connections using fully-managed B2B MPLS, Frame-Relay, CPE and Internet IPsec VPN network solutions and then decommissioned old connections.

Bank of America Merchant Services (BAMS) – Project-managed 10-15 simultaneous networking projects over 2 years for BAMS Transformation. Designed, implemented and seamlessly migrated the bank’s merchant services real-time, point-of-sale and credit card transaction data network connections and applications to new Bank of America network connections using fully-managed Frame-Relay, CPE and Internet IPsec VPN network solutions and then decommissioned old connections.

MBNA card services - Project managed 5-7 simultaneous networking projects over 12 months for MBNA Transformation. Designed, implemented and seamlessly migrated business partner’s real-time, credit card transaction data network connections and applications to new Bank of America network connections using fully-managed Frame-Relay, CPE and Internet VPN network solutions and then decommissioned old connections

ACCT (Advanced Call Center Technologies) – Designed and implemented an $8 million, 3,000+ person Call Center network for 3 remote locations in Tennessee, New Mexico, and Texas.

BAU (Business As Usual) Project Work – regular day-to-day project work included engineering and implementing IPsec VPN’s over the public Internet, private B2B(Business-to-Business) networks, and Remote Access.
