WHO I AM

I am a problem solver. Safety, plus the creation of professional, to the point technical documentation has always been important objectives ti companies that I have worked for. I have many years experience in the Machine Tool, Plastics, Maintenance, Healthcare and other Industries. I have strong AutoCAD and Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Project. I have written hundreds of technical manuals during my working life for engineering and equipment projects. I also have experience in software programs such as CMMS, EAM, ERP and MRP. Also, my working experience includes PLC, CNC and Computer programming plus experience with Servos, DC Drives and VFD drives. I designed a new machine tool with patented brushless motor technology.

SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS

1. Parker Technologies

I have performed consulting engineering and tech writing duties part and full time since 1990 in a variety of

industries.

Includes evaluation of production and maintenance operations to written documentation defining the updating

of equipment and software. I have trained many people to successfully use MP2 CMMS software and wrote

a special tech manual that speeds up the learning process for this software. (Please see website)

2. Transition Manager for HHA Services (HealthCare Industry)

Designed associated software and implemented the Infor MP2 CMMS software (Computerized Maintenance Management System) for 6 hospitals in Ohio and New York. The software and redesign allowed hospitals in the system to share spare parts and eliminate duplications, which resulted in substantial savings. PM programs were written so that Maintenance technicians could sustain capital equipment and avoid extremely critical breakdowns also saving many thousands of dollars. An exact savings figure was not placed on this achievement, but to have just a main A/C unit fail can cost a hospital up to $50,000 per hour.

3. MP2 System Administrator for ABB Transformer companies. (Manufacturing Industry)

Designed and implemented the Infor MP2 CMMS software for ABB Transformer

plants in Kentucky and Mississippi. Increased maintenance reliability of critical

production equipment resulted in multiple dollar savings and reduced

breakdowns from 80% to approximately 20%. I also implemented Preventive and

Predictive maintenance programs that allowed production and maintenance to

work together better and improve equipment uptime.

4. Compact Power Services, Equipment Repair Engineer (Service-Repair Industry)

I repaired equipment for machines in retail outlets for Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Lowes and Home Depot. Emergency calls to these locations were completed quickly and the equipment was again up and running . I also repaired PLC and CNC machine tools when they failed.

5. Advanced Drainage Systems, Project Electrical Engineer (Plastics Industry)

Implemented the U/L 508A program for the corporate manufacturing facility. Since technicians would be permitted to place U/L labels on each panel they built, the program allowed inspectors throughout the United States to immediately permit machines to be started up, saving ADS thousands of dollars. Equipment not U/L labeled was required to furnish documentation on each panel component plus test results. Designed plastic machinery control systems using AutoCAD and multiple PLC’s. While in Norway at a machine manufacturer, assisted in rewriting software for a complex Mitsubishi FX PLC controller. Number of alarms went from 8 to 44, thus saving troubleshooting time on a very complex PLC controlled machine. I created a format for writing PLC programs for any PLC. I also wrote many tech manuals for newly designed equipment.

6. Elliott Company, Sr. Project Engineer Facilities (Manufacturing Industry)

Retrofitted new CNC and PLC controls on various pieces of equipment including lathes, burn tables, rotary positioners and robotic welding machines. Discovered and corrected many power problems in the 2400 volt main power system and with AutoCAD, created a one line diagram of the complex which included 40 buildings. I trained the 75 technicians in maintenance with a system that improved the technical ability of each trade. Assisted implementation of the CMMS system and created a PM plan that resulted in increased uptime of all classes of capital equipment.

7. American Machine Tool Rebuilders, Chief Engineer (Machine Tool Retrofit Industry)

I wrote the software logic plan and retrofitted new CNC controls, servo drives and spindle systems on old lathes. I engineered a new total control system for a lathe that had its control system completely go dead. I had the machine up and running with a new control 44 days after the system collapsed. I wrote tech manuals tying the new control and electronics to the old machine. Modern Machine Shop Magazine wrote a feature article on our accomplishment.

8. Parker & Associates, Technical Writer, Desktop Publisher (Machine Tool Industry)

I rewrote 17 Japanese/English manuals and restructured them into 5 new easy-to-read English

documents for the LeBlond Makino Machine Tool Company for their RAM Electrical Discharge

Machine lines. After final written draft, I produced the manuals with Xerox Ventura Publisher

(now Corel Ventura) software in a professional easy-to-read approach.

9. WCI Machine Tools & Systems, Supervisor, Production electrical Engineering (Machine Tool Industry)

I managed 18 people. I also concepted the breakthrough Bullard VTL project for Pratt &

Whitney. P & W purchased 78 lathes for $50 million, which is the largest order for machine tools

ever secured in the machine tool industry.
