Role: Sr. Oracle and PL/SQL Consultant

Project: Healthy Family Program Migration/ AIM Baby Program/PCIP Program

California Govt. decided to move all children in Healthy Families Program will migrate to the Low Cost Program Medi-Cal. Medi-Cal is California’s Medicaid program, paid for with federal and state taxes. It’s health insurance for low-income California residents who meet certain requirements. If your income is within the Medi-Cal limits for your family size, you will receive Medi-Cal coverage at no cost to you.

This process migration process took a year till feb 2014.

Now AIM baby program which was for California’s Insurance Program changed to MCAP (California’s Insurance Program for Mid-income Pregnant women). The State of California wants to help you get good health care during your pregnancy. Going without prenatal care can cause many problems for you and your baby. Studies show that women who do not get prenatal care often have more complicated (and expensive) births. If you don’t have insurance to cover your pregnancy and you are not receiving no-cost Medi-Cal or Medicare Part A and Part B, the Medi-Cal Access Program (MCAP) may be the helping hand you and your baby need. MCAP can also help if you have other health insurance that doesn't cover maternity services or with a maternity-only deductible or copayment greater than $500. Check with your other health insurance plan to see if your deductible or copayment is for maternity-only services.

PCIP (Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan): The Affordable Care Act created the Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan (PCIP) to make health insurance available to those that have been denied coverage by private insurance companies because of a pre-existing condition.

PCIP runs until 2014. In 2014, everyone will have access to affordable health insurance choices through a new competitive marketplace called an Exchange, which prohibits discrimination based on a pre-existing condition.
