Sr. QA Engineer

Navionics changed the way people navigate by bringing the world’s largest database of marine and lake charts, covering the salt waters of the entire planet as well as tens of thousands of lakes and rivers.

SKI Application: I worked for this project as POC, this application was designed for the users who loves skiing in western countries, with the help of this application users can know their current altitudes, and can set the route through which they want to ski, get the weather information and also they get the information of the POI’s and many more based on their actual position. For this application we had the challenge of getting the information from GPS and updating the complete data as per current location and by keeping in mind that battery should not get drained quickly due to updating of location using GPS point.

Navionics Ski Application followed Agile methodology for the development and the stories (functionalities) included in each build was deployed in sprints.

Sonar Phone Application: I worked on connectivity module of Sonar Phone Application. This application is designed specifically for Vexillar devices, which is used by most of the sailors and fishermen in western countries. The main part of the project was connectivity with the compatible devices and getting the NMEA signals from the them, and decodes the sentences correctly and display the correct values on the consoles As from this application user can control the device native settings, i.e. which type of information, what all information should be displayed to user, which would be helpful while sailing and many more settings user can perform with this application.

Marine Application: Worked in this project for around 5-6 months as Sr. QA Engineer for Android & iOS Platforms.

I worked on the marine application project. Navionics Marine application is an application, which is used by most of the sailors and fishermen in western countries to get the actual information of the Sea/ lakes like the information about the weather conditions, speed of Currents, Tides, Depth values and Contour lines…etc. in this project we had a challenge of migrating the design from old to new one. As most of fisherman were not from technical background and don’t have that much adaptive to understand each features so keeping them in mind we have to test all the features and have to be very careful that all the options are easily accessible.

Navionics Marine Application followed Agile methodology for the development and the stories (functionalities) included in each build was deployed in sprints.
