Project -I

Title : Design of a Motel

Duration : Feb’12 to Apr’12

Motel Specifications:

Location - 10Km away from Rajapalayam on the Madurai-Quilon NH208

Plot Area - 490m2 (5300 sq.ft)

Features - Dining hall, Refreshment place, Parking area, Telephone booth, Browsing center, Electrical room

Structure design for G+2floors, plan layout for ground floor

Framed structure having R.C.C columns, isolated footing, beams, and roofed with R.C.C. The super structure is in brick work with cement mortar as filler, and walls in between columns.

Project Execution:

Performed site visit and evaluation for checking undulations, and material & labour availability.

Created a rough sketch and plan in Auto cad, and analyzed it for aesthetic and architectural appeal.

Performed Structural Calculations (Slab, Beam, columns, and footing), Data preparation, and Cost Estimation.

Created detailed structural drawings in Auto cad.

Project -II

Title : Analysis of Groundwater Quality in Adyar River

Duration : Dec’14 to Feb’15

Project specifications:

Location -1km radius around Guindy, Chennai along adayar river

Time period – post monsoon season (Dec 2014–Feb 2015)

The analysis focused on the determination of fifteen specific water quality parameters using standard procedures.

Project Execution:

Groundwater samples were collected from 6 bore Wels on either side of the river

Samples were tested in Environmental laboratory

Samples were tested for the following fifteen parameters - Colour, Odour, Turbidity, pH, conductivity, Total dissolved solids, Total hardness, Calcium, Magnesium, Chloride, Total alkalinity, Sulphate, Nitrate

Based on test result, reverse osmosis process was implemented to purify the water fit for drinking & domestic purposes
