Implemented methodologies targeted towards efficient power-checks in an ASIC core. Reduced the turn-around time for chip tapeouts by at least 2 weeks or less.

Collaborated with design teams and initiated to come up with mechanisms for robust power-grid, recommendations for early checks in the database – thereby increasing the quality of chip-tapeout and also reducing the turn-around time.

ASIC Physical Design Engineer, SUN MICROSYSTEMS, Inc., Burlington, MA

Achieved major reduction in gate count growth (between 10-15%) by means of defining a new methodology flow for re-optimization.

Responsible for key design on the placement and route of a Switch chip that went into an 8-way rack mountable V-880 server (powered by Ultrasparc 3, which topped the server-market for its revenues).

Responsible for timing closure on this chip with a very less turnaround time and delivered with high quality.

HONORS AND ACHIEVEMENTS:

Earned QUALSTAR award twice in 2 years within Qualcomm for excellence in leadership roles. Also earned this award for the most organized data, ever maintained in several years of digital production chip tapeout at Qualcomm. (References available upon request for the above award)
