Aetna is a managed health care company, which sells consumer directed insurance plans and related services, such as medical, pharmaceutical, dental, behavior health, long-term care, disability plans, and employee benefits through employer-paid insurance benefits program and through Medicare. My project was to customize and implement a web-based application for healthcare payers to expedite and verify Patient Eligibility Information, Submission of Claims, Patient Statement Transfer and Claim Status Checking.

Lead planning, gathering and documentation of business requirements. This involves both interfacing with clients as well as the development team. Guide peers to best possible solution, utilizing existing processes where possible.

Schedule A is used to report annuity servicing fees, life insurance commissions paid to financial representative, and total premiums paid during the plan year. NM depends on the employer/plan administrator to request the information and create these reports manually. This project involved automating the reporting for Schedule A contracts that are not pension plans.

• Analyzed business requirements and defined the functional requirements as workflow, wireframes

and use cases

• Worked collaboratively with business stakeholders for eliciting the business requirements and

facilitated the requirements elaboration sessions

• Documented data requirements and conduct data analysis for integration and conversion effort

The project involves development and production support of Policy Owner Services. The POS services insurance products for architects, engineers and design consultants. The application integrates with existing underwriting database support various policy transactions that includes Loans, Accumulations, Surrenders, Lapse, and Reinstatements.

• Architected, designed, documented, and built the automation of an existing manual process where

DB2 binds were done to Cobol-DB2 programs. It involved development of 10 new ISPF Panels

screens, 8 new batch jobs and 2 EOS reports

• Designed and developed front end for the batch process and system using REXX, ISPF

• Provided system support and client enhancements in PL1, CICS, DB2 and JCL

• Handled various projects that involve optimization/development of new systems, automating

internal processes and improving performance

• Automation of the backfill process saved more than 300 hours of work and had an annual cost

avoidance of 500 million

• Managed project scope, schedule and lead in the design, development and building of

environmental initiatives

Personal Projects

Code Environment cleanup automation (Status: Closed)

It’s about Building the tool which can perform automated cleanups of the obsolete code in all

test environments and LPARs. This tool was developed using Rexx and ISPF Panels.

It basically extracts the program names from a PDS and compares the code base timestamp of

the Database Request Module in test region against production. For all mismatched code it

flags the code and writes to report to free the corresponding bind from DB2 Catalog.
