In my present position as Spincraft’s Manufacturing Engineer I am responsible for establishing the design of tooling, process parameters, routing sequence, and fixtures necessary to support CNC machining and post machining processes. As a Manufacturing Engineer I work closely with production and play a key role by designing and implementing manufacturing methods, tools, and machines processes that supports the customer base for the CNC Large Turning, Vertical and Horizontal Machining job shop. Cost, quality and on time delivery are my goals in a low-volume, high mix production environment. As Mfg. Engineer one of my directives were to design and build semi-automated machines using SolidWorks to increase production and reduce the cost. I determined the operations required for fabrication, machining, 9 Axis CNC welding along with outside services and purchasing of components for assembly, and processing for large chamber pressure vessels and Fuel Cells. Using customer supplied parts drawings, in a verity of electronic file formats and other engineering material for completion. Another one of my key roles was the start up implementation and documentation of the manufacturing heat treat process for production, using the Ipsen vacuum 2 Bar nitrogen gas quenching, convection heating, graphite hot zone furnace. Developing new processes and programming of the citec compuvac control. Another one of my key roll directive were the programming of the 9 axis SmartTCP robotic mig welder using 3D Realize and SolidWorks 2009 software creating the solid model for welding, complying to all customer print designs and requirements.
