EXPERIENCE
Graduate Assistant
NYU Tandon School of Engineering September, 2015 – December 2015
Assisting professor with the coursework and grading for the Automatic Control, Linear Control Theory: Analysis and Design, and Simulation Tools for Robotics classes.
Preparing solutions and grading the assignments, quizzes, exams and the Matlab projects. Fluid-Structure Interaction Modelling
Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India Pvt. Ltd. July, 2012 – June, 2013
Method development for fluid-structure interaction modeling of liquid sloshing in a fuel tank.
CFD simulations of liquid sloshing in a rectangular tank to estimate the free surface elevation, pressures on the tank walls and demonstrating the influence of baffles on reducing the slosh loads.
FSI simulations to demonstrate the significance of FSI study of internal structures over standalone CFD and to estimate the stresses developed in the baffle.
The method developed was accepted for the numerical testing of the durability of the internal structures in the fuel tanks by the organization.
PROJECTS
HVAC – Fire Sprinkler System Design January, 2014 – May, 2014
Design a sprinkler system for an eight story residential building.
The system was designed in compliance with NFPA 13 regulations and standards.
Hydraulic analysis was performed by hand calculations and HASS simulations for validation. Finite Element Analysis and Material Reduction of SCARA robot September, 2014 – December, 2014
Finite Element Analysis of SCARA robot to estimate the stresses developed during its functioning using Ansys.
Material reduction of the SCARA robot using Inspire based on the stress profile obtained in FEA. Literature Review: January, 2015 – May, 2015
Steady Incompressible flow of Non-Newtonian Viscoplastic Fluids over a Backward Facing Step.
“Small Placing Analysis of Radiative Transfer between Parallel Metallic Surfaces,” Boehm R.F and Tien C.L. PUBLICATIONS
Fluid-Structure Interaction Modelling of Internal Structures in a Sloshing Tank Subjected to Resonance - Vol. 41 '2014, pages 145-168, International Journal of Fluid Mechanics Research EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Technical: Stood 4th in NIGHT SHIFT and finalist in STABILITIX events in Kshitij-2010 and 2011 respectively, Asia’s largest techno-management fest.
